I watched with an amused expression on my face while Damion left the restroom. I couldn't help but replay the scene that happened in my head, while I started to make my way to my next class. I couldn't understand why Damion had held me, but if I was true with myself, then I thought it was actually kind of... nice.
Laurie chuckled, reading my mind. 'It seems to me that you might be falling for him.' There was a teasing edge in her voice, but there was knowledge in her voice.
I snorted and rolled my eyes. I didn't say a word to her, because I actually didn't know or understood my feelings towards him. I mean, I still didn't trust him, but that was probably because I didn't know him or anything like that. It, also, might be because my life with men had been nothing but bad.
All I knew was that everything was going to change, and change scared me really bad. I had always been the type of girl that didn't need to lean on anyone, and I didn't know if that would change or not.
I shook my head and growled softly, while I walked to my next class. I didn't say a word to the teacher and just sat down. I ignored the stares that everyone sent my way while I tried to focus on my new class and not Damion, who was sitting right behind me.
All I knew was the fact that I needed to keep my grades up, because that was the only thing that was probably going to help me in this freaking world.

Lunch came quickly that day, and I couldn't help but glance around at everyone in the cafeteria eating something. I didn't have anything to eat, so I was kind of jealous that they were eating, and I knew that I had to get out. I wanted to get out of the cafeteria before-
"Hey, Bethany Ann," a voice called out, making me stop, with a soft groan. "Come sit with us."
I turned around to see that it was the girl that I had helped sitting with a group of her friends. I couldn't help but frown, wondering why she would even call me over there. Sure, I did help her, but I was still an outcast of this society.
Everyone seemed to have stopped talking to whomever they were talking to and was looking at me, making me move my scarf over my scar, kind of self-aware of it. They seemed to wait to see what I was going to do, because I was the new kid after all.
"Ummmm... why?" I asked, finally, raising an eyebrow as Becca came over to me.
"Because, you are new here, and you did save my butt back there," she replied. "Come on, please?"
I frowned. This was a new and strange thing. Someone was actually begging me to sit with them and not to go to hell or leave the school. I shifted on my feet, hesitating. It wasn't normal for me to be asked this sort of thing, so I didn't know if there was a catch or not.
"I'll give you half of my food," she bribed.
I raised an eyebrow, amused. "Are you bribing me?" I asked.
Becca nodded her head and grinned. "Yes," she replied. She glanced me up and down, frowning slightly. "You don't seem to have any food on you."
I breathed out of my nose, not really wanting to say that I actually didn't have any lunch on me.. "If I don't... what are you going to do about it?" I cocked an eyebrow. "I'm sure that you have nothing on me."
Becca frowned. "Good point," she replied. "Come on, just this once, please? If you don't like it, then you don't have to do it the next day."
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why are you doing this for me?"
Becca shrugged her shoulder. "I know what it is like to be the new kid in a new place, and I think that you didn't really have anyone to help you out." She sighed. "I want to show you that not all people are bad."
I snorted. "You don't know what I had to face," I muttered under my breath. "But, I will sit with you." I said this louder so that she would be able to hear.
Becca grinned. "Great." She grabbed my hand and pulled me towards her table.
The five other students looked at me, and I could tell that they weren't used to someone new being at their table. However, they didn't say a mean word to me, probably knowing what it felt like to be outcasted.
"Gang, this is Bethany Ann, the new student who had helped me out," Becca said, pulling me in a seat next to her. "Bethany Ann, this is the gang." She gestured towards the group.
I glanced around and saw that I was basically at a table with nerds or outcasts. I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, but I didn't say a word. I knew better than to judge people, because I didn't like being judged myself.
"Starting from my left and in front of me and going to the guy sitting beside you are as followed," Becca said, probably starting to list out the names. She pointed to a female in front of her. "That is Blair, Vincent, Neveah, Victor, and Riley."
I nodded my head in hello, but I didn't say a word while I looked at them. I memorized their faces as well as their names, knowing that it was going to help me in the end.
They stared at me before they started to talk amongst themselves about whatever they were talking about, and I could really care less.
However, Becca did keep her promise and gave me half of her food, even though I had told her not to worry about it.
'Maybe we will 'fit in',' Laurie said. There was a bit of hope in her voice, and I knew that she wanted company of people, Human or Wolves, around her.
I didn't say a word, not knowing if that would be true or not. All I knew was that it was weird sitting at a table with other people.
