"KJ, be careful baby!" Celeste says. "Babe, he's good. I got him!" Kaleb assured my sister. "Yeah, I know. That's why I'm worried!" My sister says. I laughed at them. "What you say?" Kaleb said. "You heard me!" Celeste snapped. "Y'all crazy." I say.
It was a hot, sweaty day in California. Me, my sister, my nephew, and my brother in law were all out in the backyard. Kaleb and KJ were in the pool. Celeste and I were in the patio. I was breastfeeding my 2 month old. Jamari was on the grill.
I became a mom on May 10th, 2024 at 10:50 PM. On that day, I gave birth to a baby girl and we named her Leiani Celeste Samuels. Little miss Leiani weighed a healthy 7 pounds and 2 ounces. I named my baby after my sister because Celeste was the strongest person I knew. She was everything I wish I was at her age. When I told her I was naming my daughter after her, she cried for 2 days straight.
Anyway, Celeste, Kaleb, and my nephew were visiting from Jersey. They said they needed a break from reality. Celeste was also pregnant and she didn't wanna be anywhere near our mother, especially after all the drama she's caused. They were staying with us. Jamari and I didn't mind. I missed my sister and my nephew.
"So, I have something to tell you." Celeste tells me. I look at her, burping Leiani. "Oh, Lord." I said. My sister was a piece of work. You never knew what would come out of her mouth these days. "It's good news. I promise." She says, laughing at me. I take a deep breath. "Okay, girl. Shoot." I said. "We're moving to LA." Celeste blurted out.
I laughed. "Girl, you almost made me drop your niece! You play too much." I said. Celeste wasn't laughing. "I'm serious!" My sister says. I look at her. "Really?" I asked. She nodded her head. "Yes! We're really moving to LA. We found a house and everything." Celeste tells me. I almost cried.

Genesis

"Hey, babe. What're you up to?" Anthony asked, giving my forehead a kiss. I look up from my laptop and our lips meet. "Hi, baby. I'm just ironing out the details for Valeria's birthday party this weekend." I said. My man took a seat next to me on the bed. "I can't believe our baby girls turning 3! My God." He says. I look up at him and get emotional. "I know. Don't make me cry!" I said.
It was Thursday and it was hot as hell outside. I've been busy with my summer school students and planning Valeria's party. Ive been planning this birthday party since May. That's just the kind of mommy I was. My daughter has had a party every year since she's been born. To say this child was spoiled was an understatement. It was easier because of the simple fact that I only had one child. For now.
"Mommy, my iPad!" Valeria says, walking into our bedroom. She hands me her iPad. "What happened to your iPad, baby?" I asked. She shrugged. "I dropped it." She tells me. "How did you drop it?" I wanted to know. "I fell." She says. "You fell? Oh my goodness, are you okay?" I said. She nodded. "I'm fine, mommy! My iPad won't turn on, though." She says. I examined my child's iPad. It looked perfectly fine to me. There was one small scratch on the screen but you could barely see it. I did try to turn it on, though. When I did that, the battery showed up on the screen, indicating that the iPad needed to be charged. "Oh, it just needs to be charged. You know where your charger is?" I said. My baby girl nodded her head. I smiled and handed her back her iPad. "Go plug it up then, okay?" I said. "Okay, thank you, mommy!" She says, skipping out of the room. "You're so welcome, baby. Be careful running with that iPad!" I said. She was already out of earshot.
"Mommy!!" Valeria yelled running up to me. I kneeled down so that I was her height and we hugged. "Hi, baby! How was gymnastics?" I said, squeezing my baby girl. "Fun!" She tells me. "Yeah, you had fun? You hungry?" I asked. Valeria and I walked hand in hand to the car.
It was Friday afternoon, a day before my baby girls birthday party. This was so bittersweet because I remember the exact moment I found out I was pregnant. Now, my child was turning 3. My baby was growing up! Time really flew by.
Anyway, Anthony and I decided to put Valeria in gymnastics because she had so much energy all the time. Since she could walk, Valeria has been flipping and jumping off of couches nonstop. So, we just found a really great gymnastics gym and out here in there. It'll be a year in September. She loved it.
"Hello?" I said into the phone. "Hey, do you have Valeria?" Krystal asked. "Actually, yes I do. I just picked her up from gymnastics. Why wassup?" I said. "Well, now I have to whisper cause I know that little girl hears everything." My sister tells me. I laughed. This was facts. "This is actually factual." I said. "Okay, so I got V a big gift for her birthday. I just wanted to let you know now. It's huge." Krystal tells me. I put my seatbelt on and took a look at my baby girl in the backseat. She was so occupied with her iPad that I was almost 100 percent sure she couldn't hear anything her auntie and I were saying. "Ooh, what is it?" I said. "How far are y'all from home? I'll stop by." My sister tells me. I stop at a red light. "We'll be home in 10 minutes." I tell my sister. "Perfect. Me and the kids will see you in 10 minutes." Krystal says to me. "Okay, cool. See you in a few. Love you." I say. "I love you, too. See you in a little bit." Then, I hung up the phone.

Krystal

The kids and I were sitting in the car parked outside of my sisters house. She pulled up about 15 minutes after we got off the phone. I took a peek at both of my babies in the backseat. Elian was fast asleep in his car seat. Ava was on her Nintendo switch.
"Hi, sissy!" Genesis says, greeting me with a hug. "Hi, my beautiful baby sister! How are you?" I said. Genesis opened the door to her house and let us all in. "I'm good! How are you?" I said. Ava and Valeria hugged each other tight.
Ava and Valeria were inseparable. Ava was 4 years older but they were still so close. Ava was 7 and Valeria was 3 but that didn't matter. They were besties. V loved her big cousin. Their relationship was adorable. Seeing them grow up together was everything.
"No way you got her that!" Genesis says. I laughed at her reaction and nodded my head. My sister sat there with her mouth hung open. "I did." I said. "You really bought my baby a Barbie dream house. She's gonna lose her mind!" Genesis tells me.
Genesis and I were watching Greys Anatomy. Ava and Valeria were playing in Valeria's room. I heard the front door open, followed by the sound of my brother in law's voice. "Gen, I'm home!" He shouted. "In the living room, babe!" My sister shouts back. About 10 minutes later, Anthony pokes his head in the room. "Hey, baby. Wassup Krystal." He says. I waved while burping my son. "Hi, Ant!" I said. "Where's V? She down for a nap?" Anthony questioned. "Nah, she's in her room playing with Ava." Genesis tells him. "Oh aight." He says, making his way towards V's room. "Umm, excuse me sir!" My sister says. Anthony stopped in his tracks. He turns to face is. "Yes, babe?" He said. "Where's my kiss?" Genesis said, pointing to her mouth. I laughed. Anthony ran back to give my sister a quick kiss. "I'm sorry, baby." He said. "Y'all are nauseating." I tell my sister. "Don't hate!"
