"Blake, baby be careful with your sister." I say gently. My son looks up at me. "I know, mommy. I got her!" He reassured me. I couldn't help but laugh. "Just making sure." I said.
It was a hot summer day in July. Ty and I decided to take the kids to Six Flags Great Adventure for a fun day. We were sitting by the wave pool, waiting for Ty to get back with some food. It was hot as hell, and I was lactating like crazy.
Life was pretty great for my family. I had a smart, handsome and funny 6 year old son. Also, I had just given birth to a beautiful baby girl 7 months ago. Before I had given birth, I opened my very own hair salon for men and women. Ty was still playing ball, but he decided to take a break to spend more time with the kids and I.
Anyway, on December 3rd, 2026, I fell in love all over again. I gave birth to my princess Anais Isabella Whyte. She weighed a healthy 6 pounds and 3 ounces. Blake was such a good big brother. He loved his little sister and seeing the two of them together warmed my heart.
"I got chicken tenders and fries for Blake, a cheeseburger with fries for you, and the same thing for me. That line was ridiculous." Ty says to me. "That's why you took so long?" I asked. My husband nodded and sat next to me. "Hell yeah. We need to eat and dip. I can't be around rude ass people any longer." He said. "Fair enough. We've been here all day." I say.
"I'm so tired!" I say, getting out of the car. Ty grabs Anais' car seat. Our baby girl was fast asleep. This was her first little outing and she did very well. Safe to say she loves the water. My little outdoors princess.
My phone rang as soon as my ass hit the toilet seat. Camilla wanted to FaceTime. I told y'all we were still friends. "Hey, girl! What you doing?" She says. "Hey babes! I'm on the toilet." I tell her. We were basically sisters. I told her everything. She made a face. "Ew!" She said. I laughed. "Girl, be quiet." I said, rubbing my eyes and yawning. "I saw your story and couldn't help but notice how cute my god baby looked in her new bathing suit." Camilla tells me. I smiled. " you bought her that bathing suit? Chile, I thought I did." I said. "You tried it." My best friend says. "Yeah yeah. Look, I'm so tired. I'm gonna take a shower and then take a nap. I'll call you later." I said. "Alright, mama. Love you!" "I love you, more. Talk to you later." Then, I hung up the phone.
I woke up from my nap 2 hours later to somebody tapping me on my thigh. When I open my eyes, I see Blake. He was standing in front of me, with his iPad in hand. Shortly after, Ty came running in holding Anais. "I told you mommy was in here sleeping, man!" He says. I rub my eyes and smile. "It's okay. Mommy's up now. What's the matter?" I said.
After my nap, I immediately started dinner. We were at the water park from 9 am to about 12 pm. Anais was too young to enjoy anything that happened today, but Blake had the time of his life. That's all that mattered to me, really. I wasn't a boring mom. I always made sure my kids had a good time wherever we went.
The next morning, I woke up to my crying baby. "Babe, please check on Anais." Ty mumbled, his eyes still closed. "That's what I was getting up to do, ya jerk." I said. I get out of bed and hit Ty in the head with a pillow. "Good morning, my baby!" I said, taking Anais out of her crib. She stopped crying immediately.
Today was going to be a great day. That's something I told myself everyday. I was on this spiritual journey. Ty thought it was weird, but I loved it. He didn't believe in any of it, but he was supportive of it. The sage, crystals, tarot cards. I was here for all of it.
"What you got planned for today?" Ty asked. I sat in the kitchen, breast feeding Anais. Blake sat next to me, enjoy his breakfast. "I'm working from home today. Running some errands. Blake has a haircut appointment at 3, so I'm gonna bring him over there." I explained to my husband. He nodded. I ran my fingers through my 6 year old sons curls. "Sounds like a pretty good day. My lil CEO mami." Ty says. My cheeks turned red. Ty and I have been together 7 years and somehow he still managed to make me blush. "Mommy, Brandon from school wanted me to come over." Blake tells me. "Come over when? Baby, you have to tell me these things earlier." I said to him. "Today. But it's okay if you say no because I didn't wanna go anyway." Blake says, finishing up his cereal. Ty and I busted out laughing. "My boy a trip!" He said. "How are you only 6 years old?" I say.
Our son was Blake wasn't the average 6 year old. Ty always says this kid has been here before. Blake was intelligent, and I wasn't saying that just because I was his mama. No, this child was reading at a 3rd grade level, and he already knew how to write in cursive. To say that I was proud, was an understatement. How did I get so lucky?
"Look at you, handsome! You like ya haircut?" I say, taking a picture of Blake. He smiled and nodded. I lived for that smile of his. Making sure my kids were happy and healthy was my main priority. I didn't care about anything else.
The kids and I were in the house damn near all day. Then, Blake had his haircut appointment. Sometimes, I still couldn't believe that I had a 6 year old and a 6 month old. I always knew I wanted to have children someday, I just thought I would end up being a baby mama. Horrible, I know. I just never had the best luck when it came to dating. I was blessed that things turned out way differently.
I was getting Blake and Anais into the the car when my phone rang. My brother, Juju was calling me. I answered as soon as I made sure Anais was safely buckled in her car seat. "Hello?" I said. "Hey, you busy right now?" He asked. I scoffed. "I have 2 kids under the age of 10. I'm always busy." I say, hopping in the drivers seat of my BMW. I put my purse in the passenger seat, buckle my seatbelt, and start my car.
My brother Juju, was the youngest. His name was Adrian, but everybody called him "Juju". Don't ask me why cause I don't know. He was 20 years old and my moms favorite. She never liked to admit it, but we all knew what it was. Ain't nobody dumb. Her baby boy could do no wrong in her eyes. She basically coddled him.
My brother sucked his teeth. I couldn't help but laugh. "Come on, Ny. Stop playing." He tells me. "Okay, I'm sorry. Wassup?" I said. "Can I come over? I really need somebody to talk to about this." Adrian says. "Uh oh, this sounds serious. I'm not home right now. But I'll be home in about 10- 20 minutes. I'll text you when I'm home." I say. "Aight, bet." Juju said. "Okay. I'll see you in a bit."
"So, wassup? What did you need to talk to me about?" I pressed. Adrian sat down on my couch. I eyed him carefully while I burped Anais. My brother took a deep breath before speaking. "Kelani's pregnant." He blurted out.
Kelani was my brother's girlfriend. They've been together for a minute now. I ain't even gonna lie, I didn't think they would last. That girl was the most toxic human being I've ever met. She was also insecure. It made no sense to be that insecure. Adrian loved her though. Juju told me everything. He trusted my judgment and he respected my opinion. That boy told me things that our mother doesn't even know.
I stare at Juju in shock. "Can you say something, please?" He says. "No. That girl ain't pregnant. Why you lie like that?" I said. "Ny, I'm being deadass." Juju tells me. Anais was sleeping on my chest. Blake was in the next room, playing on his Nintendo switch. I could hear it all the way from the living room. I put my hand over my mouth. "Juju, seriously? When did she tell you?" I said. "A few hours ago, actually. She told me while I was at work." My brother explained. "Deadass?" I said. "Deadass." Juju tells me. "Have you told mommy yet?" I wanted to know. "Hell nah! She's gonna bug the fuck out."
Well, well, well. What did we have here? I didn't mean to be an asshole about the situation. i just couldn't help it. It was ironic to me because our mother swore up and down that her "precious baby boy" would do no wrong. He was perfect in her eyes.
"Can you tell mommy?" Juju asked me. I looked at him like he was crazy. "Excuse me?" I said. "Please? She not even gonna be mad if you tell her." My little brother says. I laughed. "You not deadass." I said.

"You sure you gonna be good? You don't want me to stay?" Kaleb pressed. I smiled. "We're gonna be good, babe. I promise." I tell him. Kaleb kissed my forehead and then he kissed me twice on the lips. "Okay. Call me if anything goes down, aight? I don't care if it's the smallest thing. You better call me, baby. I'm deadass." My husband tells me. "You know I will, Kaleb." I assure him.
Today was the day. I was finally going to meet my real father. Well, I already knew who he was. He had been around me my whole life. I just never knew he was my biological father. This shit was still incredibly crazy for me.
Anyway, he reached out to me a few weeks ago. We agreed to meet up for lunch at this nice little restaurant. I literally had to force Kaleb not to come with me. However, I did decide to bring my baby boy Kaiden. He was a mama's boy. His brother KJ wanted to stay with daddy.
I was sitting at a booth with Kaiden on my lap for almost an hour. Michael and I had already talked before coming here. So it wasn't like he forgot. I mean, I hope he didn't forget. This was his idea.
I took my phone out and called Kaleb. He answered on the first ring. "What's wrong? You need me to come get you?" He said. I sighed while opening a juice box for Kaiden. "We've been sitting here for almost 2 hours and he ain't show up." I complained. "Are you serious, babe?" Kaleb said. "I'm just so ready to go." I say, bouncing my 2 year old on my lap. He was laughing. "Okay. KJ and I actually didn't go far. We at the Chuck E. Cheese across the street." Kaleb tells me. I laugh.
"Celeste, is that you?" I turn around to see my biological father. At this point, Kaleb and I had already got off the phone. Kaiden and I were ready to go, though. We were here so long, I was able to order some food for us. I also got some food for Kaleb and KJ.
"I'm so sorry I'm late." Michael says. "It's okay. We're actually getting ready to leave." I said, fixing Kaiden's shirt. "This little guy is your son?" Michael questions. "Yeah. My youngest son." I say. Michael looked at me in shock. "You have more kids?" He asked. I nodded. "2 boys." I said.
Michael and I actually decided to reschedule and meet up for dinner next time. I was bringing Kaleb and both of the kids this time. It was crazy because this entire time, Michael lived here in LA. I never knew that.
"You okay?" Kaleb asked me. We were in the car, on the way home. I nodded my head. "I'm fine." I tell him. My husband reached for my hand. I watched him bring my hand to his mouth, and kiss the back of my palm. He was so sweet.
