"Hello?" I said. "Hey, baby. What did you want me to get from the grocery store again?" Tyrell says. I put my phone on speaker and wrap a towel around my 2 year old son. "Umm... what have you gotten so far?" I asked. "I got paper towels, toilet paper, pads, tampons, toothpaste, diapers." My fiancé says.
Life has been pretty crazy for both Ty and I. Crazy in a good way, though. We were newly engaged with a beautiful little boy. Our sons name was Blake Avery Whyte. He was almost 2 years old and the love of my life.
Tyrell and I decided to take Blake and move back to Jersey. We've been here for almost 6 months and Ty was still getting used to the Jersey life. He's been living in LA all his life so this was a huge adjustment for him. He would eventually get used to it, though. These things take time.
Anyway, it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon. I was home with Blake, giving him a bath. Tyrell decided to go grocery shopping for the house. I offered to do it, but my man insisted that he go instead. He made me so happy.
Camilla and I were still the best of friends. We talked each and everyday. She decided to stay in LA, which I had no problem with. I was just insanely homesick. Plus, my niece Ava was growing up way too fast.
I took my son into his room to find him some cute clothes to wear. Ty was still on the phone. "Babe, did you get any food?" I said. "Yeah, I did. I got food for dinner tonight." My man tells me. "Ooh, what did you get?" I said. "I'm making oxtail, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and mashed potatoes." I dressed Blake in a t-shirt and some baby sweats. "Ooh, yummy!" I said.
Tyrell was multitalented. He was a basketball player, he could dance, sing, and he cooked. There really wasn't anything this man couldn't do. He was perfect and no I wasn't saying that just cause he was my man. I really meant that shit. Blake and I were so lucky.
"Hey, baby." Ty says, greeting me with a kiss. "Hi, baby!" I said. "Where's little man?" Tyrell questions. I follow him into the kitchen. "He's taking a nap. I literally just put him down." I said. "Oh aight. Cool." Ty says. We both started putting the groceries away.Celeste
"Babe, please be careful lifting him up like that!" I said, putting my hand on my chest. Kaleb gives me a look before putting our son down. "I got him, baby. I ain't about to drop him." He tells me. I roll my eyes playfully. "Better not drop my child." I said.
3 years ago, if you told me that I'd be married with a son, I would've looked at you like you were crazy. Life was amazing. Kaleb and I had so much to be thankful for. To this day, I still didn't know how we did it. We were blessed.
Kaleb and I took KJ to the park not too far from our house. I was watching the two of them from a park bench. Seeing Kaleb in daddy mode always made me smile. He was so good with our son. I wanted to give him more babies.
Kaleb and I eloped instead of having a huge wedding. We've been married for only a year. When we told our families, they weren't happy at all. My mother didn't talk to me for a week! I understood her frustration, but at the same time, I wasn't a child anymore. I loved my mother, don't get me wrong, but I wanted her to understand that it wasn't up to her to make decisions for me. The same thing with Kaleb and his mother.
"Babe, you good? You been quiet way too long." Kaleb says. We were in the car, on the way home. "I want another baby." I blurted out. KJ was in his car seat knocked out. Kaleb looked at me crazy. "Girl, don't play. You almost made me crash this car." He says. I laughed. "I'm serious, baby! I know we said we would wait until KJ was 5. But I don't wanna wait." I said.
That was true. After I had our son, Kaleb and I both made an agreement that we would try for another baby when KJ turned 5. However, I didn't wanna wait that long anymore. When I got pregnant with KJ, I was definitely struggling and scared. Now? I was almost done with school and the both of us had decent paying jobs. We could definitely do this the second time around.
"I mean, shit. I'm with whatever. What you wanna do?" Kaleb says. We stopped at a red light. Kaleb leaned over and left little kisses on my neck. I giggled. "I love you." I tell my husband. "I love you, more." He says to me.
