"You slay every time you get pregnant. It's not fair!" Krystal says. I laughed. "Girl, I feel big and fat." I tell my sister. "Oh, stop you look amazing." She says. I rubbed my growing belly and continued eating my salad.
It was a beautiful day in Jersey. My sister and I decided to meet up and have lunch. I was 7 months pregnant with my 3rd child. Anthony and I have tried so hard for a boy but we were having another baby girl this time around. I loved being a girl mama so I wasn't the one complaining. Anthony was tired of being the only man in the house. I promised him that we would try one more time after this baby. After that, I was done.
"How does Anthony feel about y'all having another girl?" Krystal asked. I sip my lemonade before responding. "He wants a boy so bad. I mean, of course he loves our girls more than anything. He just wants to try one more time after Avayah." I explained. "Y'all really gonna try one more time?" Krystal says. I nodded. "Yeah, but I also told him that after the 4th kid I'm done." I said. My sister and I laughed. "Are you sure?" Krystal teased. I gave her a stern look before drinking my lemonade. "Don't play with me, Krystal." I said.

Krystal

"Mommy, I'm finished!" Elian tells me. I turn around to face my son. "Hand me your plate, wash your hands, then get ready for your bath." I said. "Okay." He says. "Thank you very much! I'll be up to your room in about 10 minutes." I say. After handing me his plate, my 7 year old ran up the stairs.
It was a cool Saturday night. Elian, Justin, and I had just finished eating dinner. Ava was at a sleepover and wouldn't be back until tomorrow morning. So, Elian was the only child for tonight. My kids were pretty well behaved, so it wasn't like there was any change when one of them wasn't home.
Life was amazing, crazy but in a good way to say the least. My kids were growing up way too fast. Elian was 7 years old and Ava was now 13. It's like Justin and I closed our eyes and they grew overnight. It was emotional for me to watch.
Anyway, after I put Elian to bed, I started to do laundry. Justin was still at work, as his location told me. He would be home soon anyway. As I was folding clothes, my phone rang. Ava was calling me. "Hi, baby! Are you having fun?" I said. "Mommy, I wanna come home." My daughter tells me. "What happened? Is everything okay?" I pressed.
One thing about me? I didn't play when it came to my kids. I ain't never been to jail, but when it came to the children that I birthed? Nah, I'd do 25 to life for them. So, when either one of them called me or told me about a problem I wanted all the smoke.
Ava sounded like she had been crying. I knew she was cause that was my child. "No, mommy can you or daddy come pick me up? Please?! I don't wanna be here anymore." Ava says. I check the time on my Apple Watch and it's telling me that it's 8:00. "Um, okay. Daddy should be on his way home. Do you want me to call him and ask him to get you on his way home?" I said. Ava sniffed. My poor baby. "Yes, mommy but please can you tell him to hurry?" She begged.
"Babe, you on your way home?" I asked. "Yeah, I'm about 10 minutes away. Why you miss me that much?" Justin teased. I roll my eyes and sigh. "Justin, I'm not playing around right now. I need you to go get Ava." I said. "Woah, woah, woah. Why? What's going on?" My husband says. "She called me about 5 minutes ago, literally crying and begging me to come pick her up." I said. "Did she say why? You scaring me, babe. You know I don't play about my kids." Justin says. "I know you don't, baby. Neither do I, though. So if you can't go get her, I'll put Elian in the car and get her myself. She didn't tell me why but I feel like I'm gonna have to go beat up somebody's mama." I said.
Justin went to go pick up Ava as soon as we got off the phone. My knees wouldn't stop shaking and my blood was boiling. The thought of somebody messing with my children made me livid. I was sitting on the couch, waiting for them to walk through the door at any minute.
"Babe, we're home." Justin called out. As soon as the two of them walked in the living room, my heart dropped. Ava's eyes were red, swollen, and puffy from crying. She had all of her belongings. I couldn't sit down any longer. "Oh, baby! What happened?" I said, hugging her. "I'm pissed." Justin says.
Ava and I sat in her room and talked. She told me everything. Basically, Olivia, the girl who invited her to the sleepover, wasn't the friend we thought she was. She was a mean girl, and not to be trusted. Apparently, it was Olivia and about 3 other girls.
"So, tell me again what happened? Cause you know daddy and I are going over there tomorrow." I said. Ava sighed. "Mommy, please don't beat Olivia's mom up." She pleaded. I laughed. "I'm not making any promise. But I'll try. Now, come on. Repeat it to me again." I said, wiping away my baby girls tears. Ava takes a deep breath. "Okay. Olivia was calling me all types of racist words and her minions, Mia and Jennifer were just laughing. They tried to put paint in my hair but I told them no." Ava says. "And what happened when you said no?" I asked. "They laughed and Olivia goes, 'Why not? Your hair is nasty. It'll make your hair look better.' And one of them peed in my apple juice." Ava finished.
The next morning, I was up bright and early. I hopped in the shower with the quickness. Next, I threw on some jogging clothes like I was going to the gym. Finally, I put my hair in a bun. I wasn't playing.
"You're up early!" Justin says, walking into the kitchen. "Good morning, babe." I said. My husband wraps his arms around my waist and he kisses me. "Good morning, wifey. What're you doing up so early?" He said. "I wanna go back over to that little bully's house as early as I can. Ava told me her mother was a nurse so she's probably at work, now that I think about it." I said. "Babe, you gotta promise you won't fight that girls mother." Justin tells me. "Ava said the same thing last night when we had our talk." I tell Justin. He laughed. "Cause we both know how you get." He says. "Well, excuse me."  I say, defending myself.
Ava had cheer practice today at 12:00. After dropping her off, we dropped Elian off at Justin's mothers. Now that we were kid free, we made our way over to little miss Olivia's house. She lived in a nice little, middle class neighborhood.
"Babe, please behave yourself." Justin says. I roll my eyes. "Fine." I said. Justin knocks on the door. "This house is so much nicer during the day." He says. "Whatever."  I said. About 10 minutes later, the door opens and standing in front of me is a who I assume is Olivia. She was a pretty girl. She had blonde hair and blue green eyes. "Who are you two?" She says. I smiled and take a look at Justin. "Hi, are you Olivia?" I said. "I might be." She sassed.
I've never wanted to fight somebody's child. Today might've been the day, though. This little girl was asking for it. Instead, I took a deep breath and grinned sweetly. "We are Ava's parents. Is your mother or father home?" I said. As soon as I introduced myself, Olivia's face turned red.
"What's going on here? Who are you?" A woman, who I assumed was Olivia's mother, butted in. "Mom... I..." Olivia stammered. "We're Ava's parents. Ava was here for a sleepover last night but my husband picked her up early because she said she was being bullied." I said. Olivia's mother put her hands on her hips, and glared at her daughter. "Olivia, I'm really tired of this. You're about to go live with your father." She says. Olivia the "bully" doesn't look like a bully at the moment. She almost looks scared. "I'm so sorry, what are your names?" Olivia's mother said to me.
"Well, that went better than I thought it would." Justin says, an hour later. "I know. I really thought I was gonna have to beat a bitch up." I said. My husband laughed. "I know you wanted to." He teased.
Our visit to Olivia's house really did go well. Olivia's mother, who's name was Rachel, was not playing around. She told us that this wasn't the first time a parent came to her about her child being a bully. Rachel also told us that she was a single mother and they had only lived here for less than a year, so it was hard. Rachel was actually a nice woman and she seemed genuine.
"Ava Jade, come in here baby. I wanna talk to you." I called. About 5 minutes later, my child appeared in the doorway of my bedroom. "Yes, mama?" She says. I pat the empty spot next to me on the bed.
I studied my daughter. She was the spitting image of her father, but with green eyes. I couldn't believe my baby was a teenager. It was crazy. In just 3 years, she was going to be 16. Mentally, I was already planning her party.
"So, daddy and I paid little miss Olivia a visit today." I said, playing with a loose strand of hair by Ava's forehead. "Was her mom home?" Ava asked. I nodded. "Yup." I say. "Did you beat her up?" I laughed and pulled my child in for a hug. "No! We had a nice talk. Ms. Rachel was actually a very sweet lady. She gave us no issues at all." I tell her. "Really?" Ava says. "Yeah." I said. "So does this mean Olivia's gonna stop bullying me?" My baby asked. I sighed and held her tight. "Of course. She's never going to bother you ever again." I tell her.
