"Two souls that are always meant to be together. Sometimes it takes time. Sometimes it takes a parallel universe or something but the thing about twin flames is that nothing can keep them apart. They are a magic unto themselves and together they light the way for all of us" - Emily Prentiss

March 26th, 2010

Groff never knew what to do when people sang happy birthday to him. Was he supposed to? What was supposed to happen? Did they expect him to dance? Do something? Something other than standing awkwardly with a silly smile and a lot of blushing?

Leah brought out a huge cake with the number 25 painted on the top and Jon couldn't handle it anymore. He leaned over in laughter, face red but filled with joy.

"Oh my god, you guys!" He walked over to sit on the couch and Lin followed, slinging an arm around him as they sat down.

"Happy birthday Groffsauce!"

"Thanks Lin." They sat there for a while, eating cake, laughing and singing.

"I have to go to the bathroom, I'll be back," Lin mumbled.

"Okay, have fun." Lin giggled as he trotted off to find the bathroom.

Groff chuckled, looking away from Lin to see Chris with his eyebrows raised.

"You know, I think he might be the only person in the world who's ever called me Groffsauce."

"Ha! Yup, probably....." he muttered something else under his breath but Jonathan didn't notice, as his attention was already pulled elsewhere. Maybe it was for the best he didn't hear.

Then it was time to open presents.

Lin had gotten him a couple beanies and a heartfelt card he'd written himself. Groff nearly cried while reading it.

Chris got him two tickets to Les Miserables.

The party was almost over and Chris was on his way out when Jonathan ran up to him to say thanks and goodbye.

"Thank you so much for those tickets by the way! I don't know who I'm gonna take but I'll find someone," he chuckled.

"Well I happen to know someone who's obsessed with the show." Jon looked quizzically at Chris, who shifted his eyes to someone behind him. Groff turned around, following his eyes, landing his gaze on Lin. Lin who was currently washing his plate in the sink while simultaneously tweeting on his phone. That man lived to multitask.

"You know what, that's a great idea!" He walked over to Lin, suddenly feeling nervous. He shouldn't be- it was a simple question, 'will you go with me,'- but why did it sound like he was asking him on a date? He wouldn't be lying if he said he wanted that. He could tell Lin saw him as a friend- a close one but a friend nonetheless.

He tapped him on the shoulder and he jumped, turning around as if he'd been caught.

He'd never tell Groff this but he was, as usual, caught in the endless loop of scrolling through Groffsauce twitter and tumblr. It was an addiction. He quickly pocketed his phone and ran a hand through his hair.

"What's up birthday boy?"

"Well- you know how Chris gave me those Les Miserables tickets?" Lin looked over Jon's shoulder to see Chris throw him a wink before heading out the door. Jesus. Chris was one of the only people who knew about his little crush and he just- wow, okay. He pocketed his hands.
