Jonathan rushed past Lin who was- why wasn't Lin rushing? He turned back, tugging his sleeve a bit.

"Lin, babe come on we don't wanna be late," he begged. Lin was hunched over a notebook, heavy duty headphones in his ears, silently mouthing words that came to his head.

The look of solemnity on his face couldn't be touched.

"Yeah, one second dear," he murmured, distracted. Jon grunted in impatience, jogging to the other room to get his bag. When he came back, Lin hadn't moved, sipping on his coffee and suddenly scrambling to jot down lyrics.

"Lin!" Lin looked up, feeling guilty. He pulled the headphones to rest around his neck.

"Jon I'm really sorry, just- we have thirty minutes until we have to go this'll only take five more I promise!" Groff sighed, also feeling guilty for raising his voice.

"I'm sorry, Lin. I understand- whatever you come up with will be amazing," he smiled fondly.

"Well we won't know until I finish."

"I'll never understand how your brain works," Groff chuckled. Lin smiled softly, eyes crinkling. He took Jon's hand in his, squeezing it and brought his knuckles up to his lips.

"Five minutes." And then he out his headphones back in.
