He's leaning back in his seat, one leg crossed over the other. He's in complete awe.

The opening for starters grabs his attention. 'Mama who bore me' was sung beautifully and he can't get enough of it. Lin can't wait until the cast album comes out so he can listen to that song on repeat until it makes him want to spill his brains out.

When he sees the actor playing Melchior, he does a double take. Woah. Lin's always found people on Broadway to be nothing short of beautiful. It makes sense in his mind. But this guy- wow. Even when the focus isn't on him, he can't pull his own focus away.

He would've started drooling had he not been aware of the people sitting beside him- his sister in particular.

When Melchior got into a fight, ending in him pinned to the floor, Lin might- might- have felt electricity stirring in his belly. That. That was something he'd for sure be keeping to himself.

The show ended with a standing ovation, his sister and himself applauding. Lin really wanted to meet the cast. Okay. Lin really wanted to meet- he looked through his program- Jonathan Groff.

"I'm gonna go to the stage door," Lin told his Luz.

"Okay," she responded as they hugged goodbye, "I gotta get home, see you later?"

"Yeah," he nodded quickly, hands in his pockets. She brought a hand up as she walked away, waving goodbye.

Lin ran a hand through his hair, wracking his hands together, cracking his knuckles.

He was rocking back and forth on his toes in front of the stage door. The first person to walk out was Leah Michelle. He smiled, holding out his playbill.

"Hi, you were fantastic!"

"Thank you so much!" she grinned, signing his playbill and handing it back. Lin proceeded to talk about his favorite scenes when someone came up behind her, squeezing her shoulder. And- oh my god. Jonathan looked at him.

"Hi...." Lin gasped, breath caught in his throat. He normally knew exactly what to say. The man was even more stunning up close. It wasn't his proudest moment.

His hair was long, curly, eyes breathtakingly clear. His lips pulled into a wide toothy grin.

"Hi," he chuckled. Lin stuttered, gulping down his nerves.

"You were incredible....." and I couldn't keep my eyes off you. That's probably too much. He held out his playbill for him to sign. Jon took it, smile still lingering. "You know...." he started as Jon was uncapping his pen. He looked up into his eyes. "I work in the theater business too." It was mainly a conversation starter. Maybe if he got him to come see his own play they'd get to talk more.

"Really?" Jon was intrigued, invested. This guy was cute as hell. He was wracking his fingers together, blushing, obviously nervous. It was the sweetest thing he'd ever seen. And Jon's seen a lot of baby goats. He raised his eyebrows. "Working on anything in particular?"

"Yeah," he threw hands in his pockets, eyes twinkling, "I wrote and star in In the Heights off Broadway. And I have a sinking feeling we'll be transferring on Broadway very soon," he explained with a little grin, gaze pointed at the ground. He looked back up after a moment, "You should stop by," he encouraged softly. Neither had noticed until now but Leah was long gone, a knowing look in her eye.

"I'd love to! Here, how about we exchange numbers," Jon pulled out his phone and Lin's heart fluttered, butterflies dispersing. Jon noticed his eyes light up and could only smile wider, cheeks reddening.

"Yeah and..... um," he paused for a second, unsure how forward he should really be, "um....." his hands were sweaty again maybe if he just pretended he didn't say anythi-

"What is it?" Jon asked, concerned. They made eye contact. Ah fuck it.

"Maybe I could take you out for dinner sometime? I mean if you don't swing that way it's totally, completely fine and we can just be....."

"Hey," he interrupted, "I'd love that." Lin let out the breath he didn't know he was holding.

"Okay. Cool. Awesome- can't wait!" he was about to leave when he realized how much of an idiot he was. He turned back around, "name's Lin by the way."

"Nice to meet you Lin," he winked. Lin gulped, chuckling nervously. He turned back around, making his leave, hands in his pockets. Halfway down the block he turned around, smiling at him and Jon smiled back, waving.
