A/N: confessions au

Slipping on a blue, backwards cap, Jonathan placed the pile of books in his bag and made way for the door.

The library was always a place he loved to go. None of his friends ever came, allowing him some peace and quiet- he loved all of them but being an introvert requires lots of alone time.

He grabbed a cup of coffee at the place across the street from the library and was then on his way. He walked through the door and placed the books in his bag on the counter, smiling at the lady checking them back in.

He made his way to the back, bag slung over his shoulder, looking for the Shakespeare section. He turned a corner, running a finger along the bookshelf and almost tripped.

What did he trip on?

Or who?

"Oh, sorry I wasn't looking where I was going," he apologized. When he looked down, a pair of dark eyes looked back up, shaded by a hood over his head. Then he started speaking.

"Don't worry about it," he said, softly with a small smile.

Groff smiled back, shyly and continued looking for a good book to read. When he found one, he pulled it out from the shelf and sat across from the man. Both had their knees tucked in, noses buried in their books.

A comfortable silence continued on for about twenty minutes. Lin's foot twitched, hitting Jon's. The men's heads shot up simultaneously as a tingle electrified between them. A spark.

"Oh sorry."

"No don't worry..... it's fine." Lin kept his foot on top of Jon's. Neither seemed to mind.

They stayed there, reading away, flipping through pages, lost in their imaginations. Eventually it was near closing time and the librarian walked over to let them know. She stopped at the corner when she saw their feet touching.

Wait they'd be so cute! She wondered if they were already dating. Probably, although she'd seen both of them come in all the time and they never came together.

Maybe that was enough staring.

"Hey you two, it's closing time." Lin looked up from his book.

"Okay, thank you!" She went back to her desk.

"So what were you reading?" Lin asked, startling Jon.

"Twelfth Night. I actually just finished it."

"Already?" Lin's eyes grew huge.

"Well I have been here for," he checked his watch, "seven hours." Lin chuckled nervously, fiddling with his bookmark.

"Yeah, I guess that makes sense."

"What were you reading?"

"Hamlet."

"Do you come here a lot?"

"Yeah, at this point the librarian is my only friend."

"Do you like the company?"

"Honestly, I didn't think I would but yeah."

After putting the book back, Groff looked down at his shoes, then back up.

"Will you be here tomorrow?"

"Not like I have other places to be."

"Okay so I guess I'll see you then."

"Yeah," Lin muttered, looking into his eyes. How were they so blue? Meanwhile, Jon was caught in Lin's gaze. How were his eyes so brown? He hadn't realized until now how much he loved brown eyes.

Groff was already out the door when Lin realized he never got his name. He opened the door, hoping he was still close.

"Wait! I never got your....." not seeing the point in yelling, he hung his head in defeat. He brought his book to the checkout counter.

"What did you forget to ask him?" she asked, hoping she'd be able to help out.

"I never got his name. It's okay though I'll ask tomorrow."

"Jonathan."

"What?"

"His name is Jonathan, usually he goes by Jon though." Lin grinned, thinking about the name.

"Jon. I like it. Okay, thank you!"

"Of course."

The next day, Lin skipped into the library, copy of Hamlet in hand, waving enthusiastically to Shelly the librarian. He sat down in the same spot as before, opening his book.

A couple minutes later, Jon came over and, instead of sitting across, sat down next to him.

For the next few hours, once again they sat together in silence, reading. At one point, Jon began to drift, ending up asleep on Lin's shoulder. Lin jumped a little at the contact but brought a hand up to play with his hair.

This should be weird right? They just met the day before. But Jon was asleep so who cared. He was suddenly feeling a little hot so he slipped his hood off. Suddenly, Jon woke up with a snort. He realized where he was and quickly sat up.

"Oh sorry......"

"Lin. And it's okay I didn't mind."

"Woah, your hair's really long." Lin giggled.

"And yours is really fluffy."

They continued this for the next two weeks, rarely talking, just sleep, books and silence to envelop them. Even without the presence of words, their bond and trust grew strong and they soon became each other's safe place.

"I'm feeling really worthless today."

"You're worth everything to me."

"Have you read this book?"

"About ten times. Will you read it to me? I like your voice."

"Of course!"

One day, in spontaneity of it all, Lin grabbed his hand, lacing their fingers together. Jon looked up at him, then down at their hands. He lifted Lin's hand in his and kissed his knuckles. Lin's heart fluttered and he had no words.

There were no words to describe their relationship. They never talked about it and neither felt as if they needed to.

Two days later, Lin was waiting for Jon, writing him a poem and had just finished by the time he sat down next to him.

"I wrote you something."

"Alright."

I always loved sitting in the dark
No one around, walls built up high
Nobody to hurt me, no one to ask why
I always dreamed of the night sky
Endless, countless stars, dark blue
That was my favorite thing
Until I met you
Now I prefer when the sun's out
Blues in the ocean reflected by the sky above
You're everywhere
And for the first time
My walls have been torn down

He took a deep breath, steadying himself for Jon's reaction. When he opened his eyes, he was positively beaming, a few tears escaping his eyes.

"Are you the new Shakespeare now?" he asked. Lin scoffed.

"No way to know."

Jon chuckled and held his jaw, bringing their lips together in a soft kiss. They parted, eyes dilated.

"So does that mean I just kissed an old man?" Jon joked. Lin slapped him on the shoulder.

"Haha very funny." Funny he was. And Lin loved him.
