I was walking to the library to meet Bella for dinner. As I walked down the halls they felt grim and solemn, only a few students littering the halls. I could hear various whispered as I passed.
'Blacks been spotted near the castle'
'He's gonna get inside I know it's
'Why would someone want to hurt kids'
As I neard the doors to the library I was knocked down by Astoria.
"God watch where your going" she snapped stumbling to her feet and gathering her books.
"You banged into me" I snapped holding out one of her books to her. She looked at my hand before hesitantly taking the book and tucking it into her bag.
"Well, um" she said trying to avoid eye contact "thankyou" she said quietly beginning to walk of father quickly.
"No problem" I said dusting off my skirt, but when I looked up, she was gone. I shrugged and kept walking until I reached the library doors. I weaved through the shelves trying to find where Bella was sitting. I eventually spotted her sitting on one of the benches near the potions section. As i approached the desk she hadnt noticed me yet, I took this as an opportunity. I yanked her ponytail causing her to snap her head in my direction and harshly grab my wrist.
"Oh it's you" she laughed nervously releasing my hand from her deathly tight grasp.
"You got some scary good reflexes" I laughed rubbing my wrist "A little to good" I mumbled.We studied until the sun began to set then we decided it was a good time to stop. I decided that I would walk Bella to her common room. We linked arms as we walked down the corridors getting strange looks from people, seeing the rare friendship between the Gryffindor and Slytherin. As we approached the stairs to the fat ladies portrait it was absolutely flooded will students.
"What's going on" Bella snapped.
"It's the fat lady" Seamus grinned in astonishment. "She's gone"
I pushed toward the from of the group to reveal undead that the fat lady was in fact missing. The background of her portrait stood still with 5 claw marks torn across the material. Around us various portraits shouted.
"Everbody let me through" I Heard Percy yell. "Excuse me Im a prefect". God never did like that guy, he always made me want to rench my head off. My view was blocked but I could hear voices. All of a sudden everyone rushed over to another portrait. They standing behind a zebra was a beat up and scared fat lady.
"It's Sirius Black" she screamed her throat raw. "He's in the castle".
This caused absolute havoc. Students screaming running around the halls. I was sent back to my common room by filch. I rushed through the door to see all my friends sitting on the couch. Daphne was crying, Theo trying to comfort her, Blaise was trying to calm down Pansy who looked like she was about the shit her pants, and Draco who was sitting on the couch bouncing his knee and playing with his fingers. As soon as I walked up to them I was knocked to the ground by Draco.
"Oh thank Merlin your okay" he whispered into my hair, wrapping me in a tight hug. "I was worried sick"
"It's okay, I'm okay" I said resting my head ontop of his. I picked myself off the floor and yanked Draco up. All of a sudden Snape gathered up all the slytherins at the front of the room.
"Students due to the series of events that have happend in the past 24 hours, students are required to sleep in the great hall, under the supervision of a Profeser and must travel in pairs at all times to ensure your safety." He said. All of us gathered our sleeping bags and pillows and got changed into our pyjamas before heading down to the great hall. I set my sleeping bag down on the floor, Draco sitting his next to mine on the left and Daphnes on the right. I looked over to see Bella laughing with Fred, George and Anthony. Before i looked away I made brief eye contact with Anthony, he gave me a wink and raised one eyebrow when he saw Draco next to me. I quickly averted my gaze back to Draco. That night was one of the worst sleeps I've ever had.
