8. Awkward Lunch

Sapphires P.O.V

I kept glancing at the clock, only 3 more minutes. I couldn't hear what the teacher was saying as all I could think about was food. It was almost lunch and I have never been more excited. I wanted nothing more than to sink my teeth into a greasy burger.

I swear down periods make me a food monster.

"Will you cut that out?" I turned to Liam who looked irritated, he put his hand over mine and glared.

I couldn't stop bouncing my leg because I was starving but also because I needed to pee real bad. Bouncing my leg for some reason helped me not wet myself, I was starting to sweat and if I didn't leave in the next minute I would piss myself.

The bell went off and I started to put my things together.

"Listen I gotta pee so I'll catch you in a bit" I turned to Liam who looked just as eager to eat as me.

"We're gonna be sitting outside, so make your way there" I gave him a quick goodbye before running off to the toilets.

I grabbed my lunch and walked outside, the warm sun brought a fuzzy feeling within me which I welcomed with joy. I looked around to see that my friends were nowhere in sight. Great, more walking for me.

"Sapphire" I turned to the voice of Zane, he was sitting with his friends, lo and behold Karen was sitting with him along with Charlie.

Just great.

As I walked they all had smirks on their faces which made instantly feel like something was off. But I brushed it off as paranoia.

"Hey" I looked up at Zane who gave me a gorgeous smile. I could see Karen mocking me which earned a few laughs from her little minions.

"What are you up to"

"I was just finding my friends" I found myself cringing, everytime I had a conversation with Zane it felt so forced and I overthought every little thing because I really wanted him to like me.

"Sit with me for lunch today" I felt my stomach drop.

"Sorry I promised my friends I would have lunch with them" Apparently Zane didn't take no for an answer because he held my arm.

"Cmon, it will be fine, sit with us"

"I would love to but I have to go, sorry" I started to feel really uncomfortable with the situation. If it were any other time and Karen wasn't there I would have sat with him. I gave him a small smile before turning around.

"Wait up" I turned to see him grab his bag and jacket before walking towards me. I gave him a confused look as he stood beside me.

"I hope your friends dont mind me crashing lunch with you" I let out a small laugh as we started to walk.

"I'm sure they won't mind" I felt him tug my bag and I looked at him in confusion.

"What are you doing?"

"Let me hold it" He didn't give me much of a choice as he held my bag and lunch.

"See, much better" He gave me a cute smile and I felt myself blushing. Zane was much more caring and sweeter than I had expected.

"Saph over here" Thankfully Aiden saved me from any further embarrassment.

As we neared them I could already see Mia wiggling her eyebrows at me. I gave her a glare and mouthed 'cut it out'.
