7. Ugly Crying Face

Sapphire's P.O.V

Every time I close my eyes, all I saw was his eyes, damn those stupid eyes.

Ever since that dance I had with Rafael at the party I haven't been able to think straight. I don't know what that little moment was but I pray that it does not happen again. Something about being in his arms lit a fire in me and that was a red flag to stay away from him. Thankfully he has made it easier to get over, as I haven't seen him since then.

"Sapphire" I was pulled out of my thoughts as I Zane shook my arm.

"I'm so sorry, what were you saying?" I felt like a complete idiot in front of Zane. Here he was trying to make conversation with me and I was too busy having an inner conflict.

He gave a small laugh before continuing to speak, his small laugh gave me butterflies inside my stomach and made me think how lucky I was that he finally noticed me.

"You look so adorable when you blush, but I was asking you when you're free. I wanna take you out sometime" AGHHHHHHHH... I think my heart just exploded, I tried to keep it cool by keeping my face straight but failed miserably as a stupid goofy smile made it way onto my face.

I struggled to get out a word but considering how both of us were busy in the next couple of days we agreed to meet up during the weekend. He put my number in his phone with a heart next to my name and I think I died a little on the inside.

"I'll text you later" We both walked our separate ways to class.

The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. I walked to my locker to get my stuff to leave when Mia hugged me from the back.

"I've missed you."

"We were together at lunch Mia."

"And that was way too long to be away from you."

One thing about Mia is she tends to be clingy and I wouldn't have it any other way. When she smothers me with affection it makes me feel like someone besides my family loves me out of choice and it makes me happy. We both made our way out of school and started to walk home.

"So um Zane gave me his number and said we should hang out sometime" I braced myself for her reaction.

"OH MY GOSH" She screamed and then started to slap me excitedly.

"Ouch easy, you know I'm fragile" I gave her the puppy eyes and she hit me harder instead.

"Fragile my ass"

"This is amazing, now we can go on double dates"

"Lets not get ahead of ourselves, I mean I can barely hold a conversation with the guy. He just makes me so nervous" I had a crush on Zane for the longest time ever and for him to finally notice is quite overwhelming. My heart bursts with happiness everytime he is around me.

"I mean you've had a crush on him for so long, so being nervous is a totally normal feeling and besides I don't think he will mind he seems like a nice guy"

As we neared my house we both heard yelling and Mia turned to look at me with an alarmed look. What the hell is going on in my grandparents house.

"Do you want me to come in?" Whatever was going on inside the house was probably bad judging by the yelling and I didn't want Mia to witness it.

"No it's ok, you should head home." Mia gave me a comforting hug before walking off.

"Get home safely" I shouted after her and she turned around to roll her eyes at me.
