Sapphire's P.O.V

After Rafael confessed his feelings for me, everything felt like a blur. My dad changed his mind about going to the hospital so I had to run back home after calling the boys to help Rafael.

Right now I was walking towards Gramps' room in the hospital. I bought him his favourite food, the hospital didn't allow it so I had it in my backpack.

"Surprise" I opened the door to see Gramps bickering with Grams. Every time I came, these two were at each other's throat and by the time I left, they were blushing around each other as if they were teenagers.

"Sapphire, my baby come here" Grams pulled me in for a hug and I wrapped my arms around her tightly.

"The way she's acting is as if her ass has been poked and prodded with needles all day." I pulled away to see Gramps looking at us two with a scowl on his face.

"Gramps, I had to give her a little love otherwise she would have felt left out when I do this" I dropped my bag and carefully tackled Gramps into a bear hug. His deep laugh echoed in the room as he wrapped his arms around me.

I pulled away and kissed his forehead, he gave me a smile before placing his hands on either side of my face and kissing my head.

"I missed you munchkin"

"Me too" I got off his bed and took my jacket off and placed it on the chair beside his bed.

"I got you something which will make you extremely happy" I went in my bag and pulled out his food.

"Tada!" Both Gramps and Grams looked at each other and laughed.

I looked at them confused, I didn't know what to think of their laughter that filled the room.

"Oh dear, you shouldn't have gone through all this trouble. Your Gramps already had a delivery of his favourite food" I guess dad beat me to it. Guess great minds think alike.

"When did Dad come and drop the food" They both once turned to each other and laughed.

"It was that boy Rafael, I'm sure you know who he is" I felt my heart skip a beat at the mention of his name. My heart swelled with happiness when I realised he took time out of his day to see Gramps despite what was going on in his personal life.

"Oh yeah, I know of him" I knew him more than that but I knew no one would approve so it was better to stay quiet.

"Funny, he said the same thing" I was glad that he didn't say anything further as he knew well what kind of reaction my family would give if they found out we were more than friends.

"Well there hasn't been a day where that boy hasn't dropped by to say hello to me and my own granddaughter pops in every few days"

I didn't realise that Rafael had come to see Gramps, he never mentioned anything to me and to hear that he was here almost everyday to see someone he had no obligation to see made me fall for him even harder.

"Although today he was quieter than usual, don't you think" Grams turned to Gramps who nodded his head in acknowledgement.

"I mean he isn't the chatty type and doesn't do small talk but he does ask your Gramps about his day and asks if I'm well but today something was off. He seemed very disconnected, I was quite concerned but I never said anything"

If only Grams knew the hell he was going through, I let out a deep breath that I had been holding. The thoughts of Sofia's safety were suffocating me.

She had become a mother to me, ensuring I was well and happy. Often scolding Rafael to keep an eye out for me at school and he would refuse resulting in her smacking him. But it went without her saying, she knew Rafael would keep me safe.
