6. Excuses and Parties Pt1

When I got this job I had hoped it would most likely get me out of a lot of unwanted situations, for example social gatherings such as stupid parties. They are nothing more than an excuse to get drunk and cause drama. Now I'm not a party prude or anything I have been to a few which was rare because my parents never let me. So now for this party I ran out of excuses because for one Matt gave me the day off and my dear father was not home. He had taken Gramps to a hospital in the city.

I banged my head on the lunch table as Mia went on about the party that was being held at one of Aiden's friends' houses. Now let me tell you Aiden has very decent and amazing best friends, I'm talking about me, Mia, Dean and Liam. However his so-called "friends" are idiots, they are the clowns, pranksters and trouble magnets.

So you can see why I'm slightly hesitant to go to the party because god knows how it will end.

"Mia, no one is at home I can't leave it....alone..." My voice faded out towards the end because even I didn't believe this stupid excuse.

"Your dad is a damn cop, the house has better security than the damn bank" I rolled my eyes at her and as they rolled back I felt myself die along with my stupid excuse. I was not getting out of this one.

"Ok so when do you want me to pick you up" I gave her the puppy dog eyes and she threw an empty water bottle at me.

"UGH FINE, pick me up whenever you feel like it" The bell went off the second Mia started to scream and I got up so I could get to class.

"Awww Saph I am so excited its the first party of the year so you have to dress up"

"I am not dressing up, I think I look fine"

"Nuh uh, you are dressing up whether you like it or not"

"I hate dressing up" I whined as we were exiting the lunch hall. I enjoyed being in soft comfy clothes which didn't show off my food baby.

"Why?" I jumped ten feet in the air like a cat when I heard a deep voice. I turned around to see Valentino standing behind me with a smirk.

"I just....I uh...don't" Ok, so just because I've spoken to them a few times does not change the fact that I am still scared of them. I looked up to see the whole 'gang' listening in on our conversation including Rafael.

Great.

"Cat got your tongue Saph" Valentino put his arm around me and I felt extremely uncomfortable. We started to walk and Luca decided to hit on Mia who shut him up with the classic 'I have a boyfriend' line.

"No, I just don't have time for small talk" I heard Luca snigger which made me feel slightly better. I don't know where this sudden burst out confidence came but it felt good and judging Valentino's reaction he didn't seem to mind it.

"Oh how you wound me little one" I carried on walking trying to ignore him and shake his arm off my shoulder but alas I failed.

"So this means I'll be seeing you at the party" I turned my head towards him with a confused look.

"I'm sorry but this party is for high school students and not old men from the retirement home" I smirked at him and his smile dropped. Everyone around us burst into laughter and I turned to the boys behind me.

"That includes you three too" My eyes were directed towards Rafael who looked shocked at this side of me.

"And here I was just starting to like you" Luca feigned a hurt look making me laugh. I rolled my eyes at him before realising that I had reached my class.
