Sapphire's P.O.V

Do you ever get a feeling when all you feel is sad and just want to curl up in a ball and cry for no reason. Well that has been me for the past week, I missed two days off school and spent the day laying in my Grams lap whilst she told me stories about her younger days.

Convincing my dad to let me stay home was a whole other story. I even went to extreme lengths such as faking to throw up and stand in his room in the middle of the night. My dad looked like he wanted to throw me out of the window but when I shed a tear he became the soft teddy he was and let me stay home.

But right now that has come and bit me in the backside because I had missed out on so much school work.

I was currently sitting in my favorite lesson. English. We were reading Shakspeare's Much Ado About Nothing. The teacher had picked out students to read out each character's lines and so far the whole thing had been comical.

Aiden had made the whole thing a tomfoolery. Despite being mad at him I couldn't help but join in with the class to laugh. He made every line much more dramatic than it needed to be.

"Alright, that's enough for today. Thank you to everyone that volunteered to read and thank you Aiden for the lovely performance"

"Anything for my loyal fans" He got up and bowed as the whole class erupted into laughter and the guys started to whistle and make absurd sounds.

These idiots will do anything to boost his already huge ego, even though I was still not talking to him his antics brought a smile to my face.

I started to pack my bag up and got ready to leave the class. As I walked out Aiden walked out the same moment and we got stuck in the doorway. I moved back and gave him room to walk out. I didn't miss the glare on his face as he looked at me.

I pulled my bag up and headed towards the library. I had a ton of work to catch up on which I can't do at home because the second I get home Grams will start feeding me and after that I'm a lost cause. After eating I snuggle up on the couch between my grandparents and we binge watch on Netflix. Currently we are watching Reign and Hotel Del Luna.

Just thinking about them makes me want to drop everything and run home. But I had to get this done otherwise along with my dad, I would receive a lecture about school from my grandparents.

I walked into the library and found a cosy spot in a small corner. The lights were dim and the library felt like a warm hug. I let out a sigh of content, something about the library just seems to calm one's soul.

I pulled out my books and put in my headphones, time to tackle the pile of work I was given today.

I felt someone's hand on my shoulder and I jumped. I was so caught up in my music that I didn't register my surroundings.

"Oh I didn't mean to scare you dear" Mrs Smith was standing beside me with a smile on her face.

"Oh no, it's ok. I was just caught up in my work" I laughed as she came and sat beside me.

"How have you been keeping up, I rarely see you now"

"I've been doing good, just caught up in school work and I finally got a job"

"Oh that's great dear" Mrs Smith pulled me into a hug, she smelt like vanilla and it was the most comforting smell.

"So have things been?"

"It's been a disaster actually," I filled her in about the incident with Karen. Mrs Smith and I both disliked her.
