26. Chaotic Birthday Pt.1

Sapphire's P.O.V

"You know your dad tore my shirt when he grabbed me"

We were all heading home from the arcade, I had just finished my shift and the rest decided to stay with me till the end.

"I'm so sorry, he didn't even let me get a word in" Aiden beside us burst into laughter as he recalled the incident.

"I could've swore he wet his pants when your dad grabbed him" Liam punched Aiden in the shoulder, his ears had turned pink and I felt so bad for him.

"Leave him alone Aiden" I pulled Liam towards me and linked my arm with his.

My dad was pretty pissed, but once we explained that it was a prank he calmed down.

"I still don't get why my dad got so mad, you know I got the silent treatment until I got home. And he forgot to detach me from the trolley, he was so mad that he didn't realise that he was dragging me back with the trolley".

"You're his little girl, and that too a little goody two shoes, so his world must've flipped when he heard you were pregnant"

Mia's words made me realise why my dad acted so crazy. He has always been protective of me but never in a way that overwhelms me. I felt bad once I saw it from his point of view.

We all reached the bottom of my street before we went separate ways. Liam normally offers to walk me all the way up but he was avoiding my dad.

As I walked towards my house, I saw Valentino, Luca and Nicholas walk out of Rafaels house. I found myself getting nervous and I wanted to smack myself for it. Why was I still nervous around them, I felt stupid as I neared them.

"Ayyy Saph how are you" Luca walked towards me with a smile on his face.

"Can I hug you?" I admired how they respected my boundaries and always asked before, unless they were excited, then it was a huge bear hug, which I didn't mind.

"Of course you can" I let him wrap his arms around me, he moved to my side with his arm still slung around my shoulder.

"You alright?" Valentino stood beside Nicholas who looked irritated, from behind them Rafael came out and I found myself scooting closer to Luca. Luca noticed this and let out a small laugh.

"Ignore him, someone pissed him off" He leaned down and whispered in my ear and it made sense why he had a scowl on his face.

"Remind me not to get on his wrong side" Luca let out a small laugh.

Rafael gave me a nod of acknowledgment which I returned with a small smile.

"So where were you coming from so late?" I wanted to roll my eyes at Valentino.

"A date" His eyes widened with shock and I almost felt bad for lying. I've become quite the liar recently, I need to get a grip on myself.

"Who was it" Luca started to interrogate me with questions and I found it so hard to keep a straight face.

"A very nice guy" I tried to play it cool but I had 4 very intimidating guys looking at me intently.

"Where did you go?"

"Some place secret" I enjoyed messing with them and right now their faces were filled with curiosity.

"So when do we get to meet this punk" I rolled my eyes at Valentino, but on the inside I fought the urge to smile, Valentino's protective side was adorable.

"You don't" I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Why not?" Luca looked at me with his eyebrow raised.

"Because he doesn't exist" Rafaels smug tone caught everyone off guard, he looked at me with a smirk and I scowled at him.

"You're no fun" I felt heat rush to my face as I tried to attempt a scowl at him. He had the ability to see right through me and it frustrated me.

"Never said I was" Nicholas sniggered beside him which brought a smirk to his stupid perfect face.

"Anyway since you're already here I have a very important question for you"

"What is it?" I looked at Valentino with curiosity wondering what he had to say.

"Since you have no date, will you be my date to Sofia's birthday tomorrow" Valentino turned to the side and pulled out a small flower from the neighbours driveway and handed it to me. I accepted it with a smile creeping onto my face.

"I would love to"

"Mia what the hell am I supposed to wear" I found myself turning my room upside down in a panic. Valentino had texted me that he would pick me up at 6pm for the party. It was going to be a small gathering with Sofia's family and friends.

"What about that baby pink long dress, I mean it's an evening party and the weather is warm" I ran to my closet and rummaged through it till I found it at the back.

The dress was a soft baby pink colour. It had long sleeves and a satin wrap around the waist, the rest of the dress flowed making it look absolutely gorgeous.

I hung up on the call with Mia and jumped in the shower. Once I was convinced I was squeaky clean, I jumped out and dried my hair. I straightened my hair and put it in a tight ponytail. I went for a minimal makeup look which I couldn't mess up.

I made sure to cover up my Vitiligo patches with foundation and I put on some mascara on my lashes. To finish off my look I added blush, highlight and lipgloss.

Once I was happy with my look, I put on my dress and sent a picture to Mia. Her and Dean were having a movie night so she was getting ready for it. I was home alone and I had told Grams that I was going to a birthday party. I didn't tell her it was Rafael's mum's party otherwise I wouldn't have been allowed.

Even though my dad and Gramps were civil with the boys, they didn't approve of me hanging out with them. I felt bad for going behind their backs but they were my friends and I couldn't let them down.

I heard my phone ring and I ran towards my bed to grab it, I saw it was Valentino and answered it.

"Hi"

"Hey chica, I'm outside, you can come whenever you're ready"

"I'll be out in just a minute" I cut the call, grabbed my clutch bag and ran out the door.

I looked around to find Valentino leaning on a car.

"Is this yours?"

"It's actually my cousin's, I couldn't have my date walking to the party" I felt my heart melt at his words.

"That is so sweet of you" Valentino was a big softie and gentleman at heart, he just had a hard exterior which prevented everyone from seeing his heart of gold.

"After you my lady" I laughed at him as he opened the door for me.
