It had been a week since the incident and I am yet to hear anything from any of the boys. They haven't shown up to school and I could lie and say it didn't bother me, but it did. I just have a horrible feeling that something may have happened.
Pushing my thoughts aside, I pulled my apron off as I finished my shift, my feet were aching from running around all day. I was glad it was the weekend, I could finally sleep in tomorrow.
"Bye Matt" I pulled my coat closer as I walked out, it was starting to get dark and I was hoping to get home before it became too dark.
I felt my phone buzz in my pocket and I looked to see a message.
1 message - Rafael
Rafael - Can you meet me at the end of our street, I need to talk to you.
I felt my heart race as I saw his name on my screen, I took a deep breath before texting him back. My fingers were shaky as I typed my reply.
Me - I'll be there in a bit, I'm just finished work xx
I turned back around into the arcade and headed for the counter.
"Hey could I get two hot chocolates" Rebecca, one of the girls I worked with, took my order. I sat down on the stool as I waited for the hot chocolates, I was going to order coffee for him but I didn't know how he liked his coffee. So I went for a safe option.
My phone started to ring in my pocket and I took it out to see it was my dad.
"Hi Dad"
"Hi Princess, how was work, your shift finished right?"I let out a small laugh, my dad had all my shifts memorised.
"Yes it has dad"
"I was calling to let you know I'm going to come late, probably around 2am if I'm lucky, so make sure you get home safely"
"Will do dad, look after yourself"
"Love you"
"Love you dad"
I cut the call and phoned Grams to let her know that I would come home late. She was excited that her and Gramps could have a date night at home.
I grabbed the hot chocolates and made my way home. I felt nervous the entire time, what was he going to say. Was he going to laugh at me because of the hot chocolates, maybe I shouldn't have bought them.
I was pretty sure I chewed a chunk of the inside of my mouth as I made it to the end of the street. I took my phone out of my pocket to text him.
Me - I'm here
Rafael - Look up
I looked up to see him walking towards me. My breath got caught in my throat, his eyes once never left mine as he walked towards me. I felt intimidated by his confident walk. The confidence in which he walked was one I could dream of having. I looked at his face and it had his signature stoic expression.
I held the bag of hot chocolate tightly in my hand as he walked towards me.
"Hi" His voice was cold like the air around us.
"Hi" I felt my voice shake, but I blamed the cold and not my anxiety.
Rafael started to walk and I forced my feet to walk after him, we walked in silence and I realized that we were heading to his spot.
