To say hiding my injury was an understatement, any little movement and it hurt like hell.

I was currently at work because I had missed too many shifts but Matt thankfully didn't press on the matter. I gladly took the morning shift because my dad promised we would hang out today. I was cleaning up a table when someone wrapped their arms around me.

"Hey" Zane whispered in my ear. He turned me around with my injured arm.

I flinched as he used pressure to turn me around. "Ouch"

Worry filled his face as he quickly let go off me.

"What happened, did I hurt you?"

"No I just caught my arm on a shelf corner and it hurts" He looked at me as if he didn't believe me but he brushed it off.

"I just wanted to come over and say hi, a couple of my friends wanted to grab something to eat, so I suggested we come here as it would be a great excuse to see you"

"Well I'm working so I won't see much of you"

"Why don't you serve our table" He gave me the puppy dog eyes and I groaned.

I mean I will be getting a chance to see him but I had to make a sacrifice by seeing his nasty friends.

"Fine, but strictly as a waitress, I'm not going to be hanging around" He pulled me into his side and kissed my head.

"I expect nothing more" I rolled my eyes at him as we made our way to his friends table. Zane sat on the end of the booth and had his hand on my backside as I stood near him.

"So what can I get you guys today" I took their orders before turning around, as I turned around I felt Zane smack my backside earning a laugh from his friends. I turned around and gave him a tight smile before hitting him with the notepad.

"Cut it out, it's not funny" He laughed at me as he did it again.

I went to the back and gave the order. I sat near Jessica who prepared the food.

"I see your little boyfriend has come here"

"He's not my boyfriend" Is he? I mean we hang out and like each other but neither of us have brought up whether we were officially dating.

"Mmmmh keep telling yourself that, I can tell you are head over heels for him"

"Well we haven't had the conversation about whether we are official or not. It's my first time with a guy so I don't really know how this thing goes"

"Just go with the flow and don't overthink it. I'm sure he'll grow some balls and ask you to be his girlfriend" I laughed at her before grabbing the plates and heading for their table.

I set them down and asked them if they needed anything else.

"Not really, but we'd like Zane's beautiful girl to join us" I blushed as one of his friends winked at me.

"I'd love to but I'm busy"

"5 minutes babe please, it's pretty quiet I'm sure your boss won't mind" I looked around and the place was practically empty. Before I could make up my mind Zane pulled me into his lap. I immediately tried to get up, his bold move caught me off guard.

"Relax babe" Zane leaned his head into my neck. I felt uncomfortable at how his friends were watching with smirks on their faces.

"Stop staring at my chick and eat your food" His friends burst out laughing as if he made the joke of the century.
