he rushed through the forest, brushing past burning trunks and getting smacked in the face by low branches. crouching down and moving fast. the night was cold and quiet if not for the screams still coming from the village or the gun shots being fired.

Lincolns pov

my feet thumped down on the soil below my feet, heavy but quiet. the embers from tonDC floating all the way out to where i am. i could still feel the heat from the fires and my ears were still muffled from the explosion.

i could hear faint voices arguing and messy foot steps making me stop abruptly. "how can you be sure?" there voice was hesitant and confused. "because im going to kill them" a familiar voice said with confidence and determination. my eyebrows furrowing i started slow and steady footsteps towards them and in a few seconds i could see two hooded figures. "wait" one of them whisper urgently and pointed in my direction causing them both to stare at where i was behind a bush. now seeing both their faces it was all the evidence i needed and slowly stepped out from behind the bush "clarke?" her forehead wrinkled but otherwise her expression was hidden from the shade the hood provided her. "Lincoln?" i stepped forwards until i was a couple of feet away "commander?" lexa stepped closer. Clarke's eyes were wide "what are out doing out here?" she asked and i looked forward when another few shots rung out in the distance "taking out the shooter, octavia and the others are trying to help to wounded in the wreckage but it's impossible to get to them with shots being fired" lexa was listening intently and clarke nodded along. "wait, octavia's alright?" she said with hope and i nodded my head. "for now. what are you guys doing out here?" lexa stepped so she was right next to clarke. before lexa got to speak more shots rang out and screams were heard in the distance "nevermind we don't have time. we have to go now" lexa said and motioned us forward. i nodded and we started making our way towards where the shooter was heard.

Y/n POV

The night was still dark and rain drizzled down but doing nothing to diminish the fire that was still burning around tonDc. "Y/n there are still people down there we can't wait" Octavia argued and I nodded my head, pushing myself to my feet while my hand clutched at my stomach. Octavia looked at me in concern but I shook my head causing her to sigh and nod. "There's people down here!" We heard someone yell out and looked over to see two grounder men and zell lifting some of the wreckage but staying low as to not get shot by the sniper. I nodded at Octavia and we started making our way over to the others, leaving Nyko and Abby to care for Indra.

"Where do you want us to lift?" Octavia asked while maneuvering around the other side of the rubble. "It doesn't matter just start getting the more loose blocks out of the way and we'll work from there" one of the guys said and we nodded.

The rough surface of the rubble was hot against my hands and I lifted one after the other, passing them along to people behind me who chucked a them out of the little crater we were in. "We can't get any further!" Someone called out from behind, all of them either squatting or kneeling down. 'O, got any ideas?' She looked at me and her eyebrows were creased as she was deep in thought. "Just one" she mumbled while snatching a bottle of amber liquid from a guy who was taking a sip. She took a swig of it and grimaced at the taste and nodded.

She peaked over the side of the small cover we had before chucking the bottle at a fire that still had hot flames emitting off of it. The fire got bigger when we heard the glass bottle collide with the hard surface bellow it making the flames below but soon turn into thick white smoke "good one skai girl" one of the grounder men chuckled before we all started making our way closer to the pile of rubble and Broken buildings where there were bound to be people.

I could hear small whines and shuffling from under a platform beside me making me stop and look closely at it. Sighing and grabbing on the edge and lifting the heavy support beams. I could feel the pull it caused on the muscle in my neck as my arms strained to lift. Low grunts left my mouth before I could push the beam to the side revealing scruffy dirty blonde hair and a small limp body. I could feel the air leaving my mouth in short fast pants while my hand that was now stained in a mixture of blood and soot clutched an my abdomen. I could feel a sharp pain digging into my gut but pushing the pain to the back of my head I bent back over in order to try and fish the little body out from the pieces of Broken and hot wood. My hand latched onto a small arm and I pulled steadily and soon I could grab under their shoulder and successfully pull them out of the ruin. They lay on the ground before me and I crouched down, my hands that were no longer the colour of my skin cupping the child's face and my eyes widen as I scanned the little boys features and brushed his over grown hair out of his face. 'Tarri!' I don't know if he could hear me. I pressed my finger to his neck, sighing in relief as I felt a Pulse, it was weak but it was there.

I brought him into my arms and stood. Scanning the area until I saw abbys light brown hair and I rushed toward her not caring that the sniper hadn't been taken care of yet. Grunts left my mouth and I slightly limped but the weight of tarri pressed against my stomach made it more bearable. 'Abby!' She turned and her eyes flickered to tarri's small frame right away. 'His names tarri. He has a pulse but it's weak' she nodded her head and she touched the boys face and scanned over his body for any visible wounds. Her eyes landed in his side where she reached out and touched it before pulling it back only for it to be stained in crimson red. She lifted his shirt hurriedly but his skin was clear of scars and wounds causing Abby to furrow her brows. I stumbled slight causing Abby to look at me and scan over me before she saw my damp shirt that tarri was pressed against. "Nyko!" She called out and he came over to where we were "take the boy, make sure he's alright" Nyko nodded and scooped tarri from my arms despite my protest. Abby grabbed onto my shirt and went to lift it before shot rang out it our direction.

Everything went so fast. Abby pulled me to the ground and propped me up against a wooden crate "you need to let me look at this" she demanded and I nodded helplessly and she lifted my shirt. I didn't look. I didn't want to see it. Abby didn't say anything, I just felt her hand prodding around my stomach. She touched an area that caused me to let out a loud hiss "sorry" she mumbled. "This is bad y/n" she warned and I momentarily glanced down at my abdomen seeing a piece of metal lodged in my skin with blood oozing out around it. I could taste copper in my mouth causing me to cough and It didn't stop till I was choking on my blood. "You need to get it out of your lungs y/n" Abby said in a demanding tone while turning my body towards her and rubbing my back soothingly as blood leaked out through my parted lips. "We need to stop the bleeding otherwise your going to bleed out" she said while ripping half my shirt to wrap around the metal as kind of a border to soak up the blood.

My eyes were blinking rapidly as I fought consciousness. The black dots started taking over my vision and the last thing I heard was the echo of a horn before it all went dark.
