i could hear the blood pumping throughout my body.

i could feel my pulse throbbing in my neck.

my feet collided harshly with the cold stony ground of the halls in the mountain. blood splattered on walls and pooling on the ground made it kind of slippery and bullets being fired in nearly every direction echoed throughout the corridors as well as the brutal sound of metal hitting metal and slicing against skin.

my mind was nearly blank besides the destination i had in mind and the stuff i had to do to get there. rage stayed alight in my eyes as i saw fallen grounders and Arcadian's on the ground with they're mouths slightly agape and the sheen of death clouding their eyes. blood. crimson blood was everywhere. my hands felt hot and i didn't have to look down to know they were aflame. yellow, red and orange Hughes radiating off of them and shining against the walls.

so far i haven't seen anyone i was familiar with. sure there was the occasional face i recognised but i didn't know them or their names.

i could see fear embedded in the eyes of the mountain men that were obviously unaware of my abilities as they came charging down the halls but not halting their movements. lifting my arm up just as a soldier was about to run past, my heated hand collided and wrapped around his throat. his eyes were wide, almost paralyzed and it made a sick smile spread its way up to my face. squeezing my hand i could feel his hot flesh sizzling against my hand and he choked on the lack of oxygen and the burning sensation around his neck. the light left his eyes. basically instant death as his throat perished in my grasp and he buckled to the floor, in a lifeless pile of flesh and bones. his uniform stained the bright red colour that now covered the majority of this floor.

continuing my path through the corridors i noticed that nearly everyone i passed was making it their mission to avoid me.

Clarke's pov (way before y/n got there)

raven and wick were down at the damn. octavia and Indra's group were in the tunnels, waiting to escort the 47. Bellamy has been offline for 12 hours.

lexa and I were outside the main door waiting for ravens signal with the rest of the army of the 12 clans and the skaikru guards.

"come on raven" i mumbled under my breath. the light from the torches supplying a yellow glow amongst the dark outcast of night.

"it takes as long as it takes" i heard to my left. glancing that way i saw the commander with her stiff posture and stoic facial expression. her warpaint making her face blend into the shadows. i stayed quiet after she said that and the army stood silent besides the few quiet murmurs from the ground and sky people.

they were all stood ready for the battle, for they're heda's command. it made me wonder how many times they've had to do this, nearly all grounders have been training since the ripe age of 2.

it wasn't hard to tell that my people were getting restless, they weren't used to the wait. "we can't wait too long. if they don't get it done-" in the middle of speaking the commander cut me off causing me to role my eyes. "they'll get it done" turning to face her i raised an eyebrow. "we don't know that" lexa turned to glance at me, her vibrant green eyes felt like they were piercing through my soul. "have you lost faith in your people, clarke?" she raised her eyebrow with the question but before i could respond  she spoke again. "you seemed to have a lot of faith in Bellamy" she trailed off and i was left once again speechless. she turned to face the door again.

my mind was clouded. ofcourse i have faith in them, but it shouldn't of taken this long. hearing a click snapped me out of my thoughts. cheers erupted behind causing my head to snap up to the vault like door. a small light shone out of a little glass window on the frame signalling that it was unlocked. cheers still coursed among the army. lexa turned to face me with a ready face and stone eyes "you ready?" nodding my head as i cleared my throat. its now or never, literally. "we only have 60 seconds! get those ropes on the door!" i ordered out and 2 groups of sky and grounders ran forward and started tying the thick ropes to the doors metal bars.  they were slightly rusty. "we need everyone on those ropes!" Monroe yelled out but as soon as warriors from all clans ran forward shots rung out making everyone duck down to avoid getting hit.

"whats happening?!" i whisper shouted to lexa. "ambush" she gritted as she glared daggers at the ridge above us. "they must have pulled a surprise attack on the centuries, taken over the ridge" she explained but was half talking to herself. nodding my head solemnly, my thoughts were going crazy. lexa moved a hand above her head and did a few weird signal things before she jumped into a squatting position and slowly started making her was behind a bolder like rock.

my eyebrows furrowed and i followed her to behind the rock. she was squatting down and held a stick in her hand as she mapped out the area. about 6-8 grounder warriors were squatted next to her. "we'll sneak up there. its the only way. you 2-" she said while pointing to 2 other warriors "create a distraction so they can get to the door" lexa ordered and they all nodded. 2 warriors went off and lexa went to go around the other side of the rock with the 8 warriors following. grabbing her wrist, she spun around "what are you doing?!" i asked with a slightly raised voice. "me and my warriors need to take them out, you need to get that door open" she said impatiently and i nodded. "may we meet again" i said as i turned. lexa nodded before going after her warriors and up to the ridge.

third  point of view

the 2 warriors assigned to make a distraction got to work. both of them readying an arrow on their bows before lighting the tip on a nearby torch. the arrows burned an orange colour with the occasional blue glow from the heat. pulling their arms back, they aimed for the ridge and went higher. the sound of the string vibrating along the arrow as it was pushed forward, soaring up into the air. the fire trailed behind as it went up and over the ridge before falling down and catching fire to some dry grass. yells were heard from above as shots rung out and the gruesome sound of swords slicing flesh echoed. grunts faded and cry of pain bellowed from the fire.

the sky people and grounder warriors made quick work of getting back on the ropes. they grunted as the ropes tighten  until they were completely stiff and made slow progress of the heavy door being pried open.

up on the ridge

they're feet hit the ground as they made a quiet march up the slopped hill. swords at the ready. a battle cry left the commanders lips as they charged forward. swords doing an intricate twirl before they penetrated the stomach of a mountain man. it went on till the grounders had flattened the mountain men till one was standing. lexa whipped her swords down as to shed the dripping blood of her enemy's off.

"wait! wait!" she heard a plea. glancing over her shoulder she saw one of her men spinning and slamming his sword against a mountain man who narrowly missed his blocks and the ones he wasn't so lucky for he attempted to block with his gun. "please!" the same mountain man yelled out and it made lexa curious.

"hod up!" she yelled to her warrior and her feet hit the ground steadily as she marched towards them, her swords still at the ready in her hands. before she got there the grounder warriors had yanked the mans rife out of his hands and throw it to the ground before pushing the mountain man to his knees. "you will kneel before the commander" he growled and the mountain mans head fell forward as unsteady pants  exhaled from his mouth.

"we- we have- a deal for you" he got out between breaths  and lexa's brows quirked. "speak, maunou" the commander hissed. "we will give you- your people" lexa nodded but didn't get a chance to respond as the man continued after inhaling labored breaths. "if you retreat" lexa stood quiet as she thought it through. "what about the skaikru" she said with venom "they are not apart of the deal" the man said while lifting his head until his eyes met the commanders. his brown floppy hair hanging down near his eyes. lexa stayed quiet as to appear to be considering his proposition when in reality she had already made her up her mind. "what's your name" she asked her voice no longer dripping venom but still emotionless "e-Elliott" he stuttered out. lexa hummed out before clearing her throat.

"yu gonplei sten odon, Elliott"

the man looked confused but his eyes flashed with fear as the commander swung her sword back only to swing it in his direction. it collided with his neck which got cut clean off and the stub where the mans head used to be sprayed a bit of blood before the beheaded  body collapsed forward in a lifeless pile.
