(she/her reader)"Come on, let's get moving. We're not frozen in place, after all." Kaeya's voice was the last thing Y/N heard from behind the screen, before they woke up to find themselves stuck in the vast world of Genshin Impact.

Y/N looked hesitant as she carefully scanned through the assortment of weapons.
"Still haven't chosen yet?" Amber asked as she peeked her head over the other girl's shoulder.
Y/N sighed.
"Not yet, this is harder than I expected..."
Y/N wanted a weapon to match her physical capabilities, removing the possibility of being a catalyst or bow user. She was strong enough to wield claymore, but her agility would be severely downplayed in the process.
The obvious choice would be a sword, however, that route felt too simple for Y/N.
"I've decided."
Y/N picked up the largest spear on display.
"This will be my weapon."
Amber stood with her jaw on the floor.
"Y/N...don't you think that weapon's a little too big for you? Besides, spears are the hardest weapons to wield in terms of accuracy and skill. Even the most renowned swordsmen go through special training in order to properly use a spear in battle."
Y/N grinned.
"I know, that's exactly why I want it."
Normally-sized spears to be too light too handle, they felt delicate and fragile in her hands. Instead, she chose the heaviest, tallest weapon the blacksmith had to offer. It was made with plain wood and iron, but Y/N was more than satisfied.
Amber sighed as she handed the blacksmith a handful of Mora.
"I hope you know what you're doing Y/N." she told the girl as they left the shop.
"Amber, I'm not as defenseless as you and Kaeya may think." she stated confidently.
"Back in my world, I practiced a martial art known as bōjutsu. We sparred with wooden sticks, I thought wielding a spear would prove similar."
Amber listened intently, her eyes glued onto Y/N with curiosity.
"Woah, that sound's amazing!" she clapped her hands together.
"Now I definitely want to see you in action! I'm not a good partner for sparring, but I'm sure Kaeya would agree to have a match with you!"
"Er, that's a great idea! But it's starting to get dark..." Y/N said as she observed the sky above her.
"Ack! You're right!" Amber exclaimed.
"Let's go find him anyways! Don't you want him to see your outfit?"
"Well, I-"
"Of course you do!" Amber waved the traveler off.
"He's probably in the taverns, drinking wine and gossiping with the elders. Let's go visit! Maybe we can laugh at him if he's drunk!"
Amber dragged Y/N to the Angel's Share before she could retaliate.
...
Y/N entered the crowded tavern, slightly intimidated by the new scene. Customers crowded the tables, laughing over card games and beer. A lone bard played melodies by the entranceway, he greeted Y/N with a nod as she entered.
At the counter stood a young man with blazing red hair, preparing drinks for the waitresses to distribute. His composure and formality didn't seem to match the bar's warm, lively atmosphere.
Y/N recognized him instantly.
"Hey Diluc!" Amber waved at the redhead.
He looked up to his name being called, giving a small smile when he saw the outrider standing before him.
"Hello, Amber." Diluc nodded in greeting.
"This is Y/N! She's the newest traveller here in Mondstat. Jean had me show her around town since it's her first day here. Y/N, this is Diluc! He owns the Angel's Share and the winery as well."
Diluc turned to set his eyes on Y/N, the latter returned the gaze.
"Hey." she greeted simply.
Y/N gulped as Diluc shot her a hesitant smile, before bowing a muttering a small 'welcome'.
"Forgive him, he gets on edge with most outsiders.
The brunette slapped a few Mora on the countertop as she took a seat by the bar.
"A berry and mint burst with white wine for me. What would you like, Y/N?"
"Um, apple juice please."
(YES Y/N LOVES APPLE JUICE 🧃)
Diluc handed the two girls their drinks, both of them giving their 'thank you' s in return.
"Where's Sir Kaeya? Isn't he always hanging around here at night?" Amber asked as she took a sip of her beverage.
"Yeah, I thought it was strange too." Diluc responded as he washed a few glass cups. "He isn't here today, I was just about to ask you if you knew where he was. But I suppose you're just as lost as I am."
"Hm, that's weird.", Amber took another sip.
"I wonder if..."
Y/N tried to listen in on their conversation, but with so much noise and movement in the tavern, she found it hard to concentrate. Eventually, Y/N's drowsiness got the best of her as she fell asleep with her head rested on the wooden countertop.
