Rory and Jess walked up the stairs of Luke's diner laughing, still drenched in lake water. Jess unlocks the door using the spare key on the top of the door frame.

They walked in and Rory laughed when she saw her mom's stuff all over Luke's apartment.

"Do you want to shower?" He laughed. "That lake probably wasn't the cleanest."

"Yeah, sure." Rory walked into the bathroom as Jess grabbed stuff out of his old wardrobe. He looked goofy in a cute way with his hair out of place, not gelled to perfection as he had always had it since Rory met him.

Jess handed Rory his old Rolling Stones' shirt and a very familiar looking pair of women's pants... her mom's pair of pants.

"Thanks." She smiled.

"Don't worry about it." He gave a shy smile back.

Rory sat on the sofa waiting until Jess got out of the shower. She was glad she left her phone at home tonight since she decided to jump in the lake.

Jess came out of the shower with a towel around his neck as she realized they were wearing the same shirt.

"You bought two Rolling Stones' t-shirts." Rory giggled.

"Seven actually. Only two with the same design and cut." He laughed, sitting next to her on the sofa. He put his arm around her as she shifted into the familar lay against his shoulder. Jess rested his head against hers as they drifted to sleep.

Rory woke up quite a bit after they had fallen asleep and she looked over at the clock on the wall.

2:34 A.M.

They had shifted into laying on the couch and his arm was draped over her waist.

She looked over at Jess and smiled when he looked 5 years younger and peaceful. Rory drifted back asleep.

Lorelai woke up the next morning with Luke snoring beside her.

She snuck out of bed and crept downstairs then looked in Rory's room, the window still being open from the night before. Lorelai smirked, pleased that her daughter was out, having adventures instead of being so reserved, like she was in highschool.

Luke walked downstairs.

"Rory and Jess still gone?" He asked, rubbing his eyes.

"Yeah." She laughed.

"You're not worried?" He asked shocked.

"No." She turned the coffee machine on.

"Really." He sat at the kitchen table.

"She's been weird lately." Lorelai sighed.

"Weird how? She's not doing drugs, right?" "No, Luke." She laughed. "She doesn't have that same spark to her like she used to." Lorelai sighed.
