okay, i just thought about this so before any confusion starts, this is how portwell came to be:
ej goes to slc for the summer of junior year to visit his cousin (ashlyn) and her family.
while there, he meets some of ashlyn's friends, including nini. he meets gina and it's like love at first sight. they start hanging out more. and eventually tell each other they have feelings for one another. long story short, gina finds out that ej is friends with ricky. gina tells ej briefly about what happened and ej is shocked. they agreed that it was best if they kept their relationship a secret. and they have been dating ever since.
