You were walking home from school with your older brother, Ethan, when suddenly he starts walking faster ahead. You look ahead of you to see him walking with Joshu. You start listening on their conversation, after having nothing better to do.
"I don't know but the fucker stole my room and the girl I was getting with."
"Yasuho, really."
Suddenly you 3 walk past your house.
"Ethan are you blind, the house is this way!"
Ethan rolled his eyes.
"Mom said I could go over to the Higashikata's place." He said
"You can come if you want" Joshu said quickly.
You shrugged and continued walking behind them
You arrive and take off your shoes before entering. As soon as you walked in you noticed there was a new guy in a sailor hat. You were ripped from your thoughts when your brother started dragging you to Joshu's room.
Once your brother gets you into the room. Him and Joshu start playing video games. You stand off to the side, not wanting to touch anything because it's not like you know what he's done with it.
"(Y/n) want to play?" Your brother says as he passes you the controller.
"No I'm good."
"Ugh you are so boring" Ethan says then continues playing.
You stood there with your mouth open in disbelief. Instead of yelling at Ethan you storm out the room and walk outside. You climb up one of the trees in the yard and look out to the water on the horizon.
"Hello?"
You look down to the new guy from before.
"Hi? Why are you out here?"
"I was going to ask you that." The man said as he jumped up into the tree and sat next to you.
"I'm Josuke, sometimes I go by Gappy" he said as he stuck out his hand and gave a gap tooth grin.
"(Y/n)"
You shook his and hand and returned the smile. After asking how did he know the Higashikata's, he told you the whole story of him coming out of the ground, being two people, and kinda getting adopted by the Higashikata family. It was confusing at first but you eventually caught on. You two sat out there for hours, until the sun started setting.
"And that's how the soap bubbles work" He said as he pointed to one of the bubbles he created.
Then you heard a door open. You two turned around to see Joshu and Ethan walking towards the tree. You and Josuke jump down from the tree scaring the other two.
"Why are you hanging out with him" Ethan said referring to Josuke.
"What's wrong with Josuke? Hes way better than you two."
Ethan seemed to be getting angrier by the second. Before long you two were arguing. Next thing you know you feel a stinging pain in your cheek. Tears start to drip down your face as Ethan backed away from you and started walking home. Once the shock subsided, you quickly started wiping away the tears from your eyes. While you were wiping your eyes you felt a pair of arms wrap around you.
