~Wakko's POV~

(Earlier...)

After Yakko left to see his dream girl, Dot and I went back to the water tower. As Dot was reading one of her romance novels, I sighed as I looked down at the office building. "Ugh..!" I kicked the side of the tower.

"Could you not be any quieter?" Dot sounded annoyed.

"Sorry. It's just that the time is going by so slow today!" I crossed my arms.

"Well what are you gonna do?"

"Hmm..." I started putting in my thinking face. "I don't know."

"Then why don't you go visit your girlfriend?"

"Ooh! Great idea Dot!" I stuck my tongue out. "I'll see you later!" I said as I jumped off the tower and landed on the ground safely. "Touchdown." I smiled and walked to the windows of the Psychiatrist Office building.

As I saw an open window there, I climbed on the edge to see Aqua there. 'There she is, my beautiful doctor~' my thoughts told me sweetly.

"Okay..." Aqua read her papers.

"Hmm?" I listened.

"So Yakko should be coming in a few minutes, Dot will be here before lunch, and Wakko will be here before closing time." she spoke to herself.

I quietly looked at her as she seems to be talking to herself.

"Hmm..." she looked up at the ceiling. "Now that I think about Wakko..."

"Hmm?" I wondered as I heard Aqua calling my name. It also made my ears stick up.

"Maybe I should tell him my secret?"

"Secret?" I asked myself this quietly. 'Wait a minute, what am I doing here?! This isn't the right thing to do! I'm spying on her and listening to her talk to herself. Snap out of it!' my thoughts warned me.

"No... if I show my tail to him, he'll eat me. I'm not seafood, I'm a mermaid for crying out loud!" she raised her arms up.

Right when she said that word, it made me gasp and got out of the window. "S-She's a-a m-m-mermaid?!" I whispered to myself and ran right back to the water tower. After I zoomed up to the top of the tower, I opened the door and slammed it shut while sweating actual bullets.

"Whoa!" Dot threw her book up in the air due to the slamming of the door. "What's with you?"

"Uhh... uhh... uhh..." I grew pale as I didn't have the right words to tell my sister this new thing I've found out about my girlfriend.

"Whoa. Wakko, are you okay?" Dot got up and walked up to me. "It looked like you've seen a ghost."

"I haven't seen a ghost."

"Was it a werewolf?"

"No."

"A clown?"

"No!"

"Then what is it?"

I took in a deep breath and said, "I heard something that I shouldn't be hearing!"

"What did you hear? It's not like you've heard something shocking like the CEO firing your girl. Wait, is he?!" she gasped.

I shook my head. "No. It's not that."

She sighed in relief. "Thank goodness. Then what is it?"

"I uhh... I went to go see her like you said so I can surprise her. But instead... I was listening to Aqua talking to herself in the office. She left her window open and I... I heard everything."

"What do you mean by everything?"

"She has a secret and... and... s-s-she's a-a mermaid!" I blurted out the words.

Dot gasped. "What?! No way!"

"A-And I didn't mean to eavesdrop..." I trailed off as I looked down at my feet.

"This would be bad if you knew the secret first. I think you should keep this to yourself. Oh, wait... I forgot. You really can't keep anything to yourself."

"Exactly! And I just told it to you too!" I sighed and went to a corner to sit at. I hid myself into my sweater and sighed out loud. I felt really really bad that I've heard my girlfriend say all of those things that I'm afraid the word will get out. Thinking about her being mad at me worries me that she won't be my girlfriend anymore.

"Wakko..." Dot started as she came to me. "It's okay. You should tell her that it was an accident that you've heard her say all that stuff."

"But I can't! I'm in too deep!"

She giggled a bit. "Like the ocean."

"Dot!"

"Okay okay calm down hot shot."

"Hmph."

"It's going to be okay. You should tell her about this. You're an honest guy. I'm sure that she'll understand you."

"You really mean it?" I asked her as I looked up at her.

"Yeah. I know she'll forgive you. She's a sweet girl."

I smiled a bit and got up. "Thanks Dot."

"You're welcome. Now how about we go see her again? I'll come with you so you can feel more at ease."

"Okay. Let's go." I said as I got out of the tower and climbed down the ladder. As we went to the office, I stopped at my tracks to see Aqua there at the stairwell still speaking with Yakko who was smiling. I started stepping backwards slowly, but Dot got a hold of my wrist.

"Wakko. What's wrong?" Dot asked.

"I... I... I can't do it!" I said as I started running away from her and started running around the whole movie lot while waving my arms up and down as if I was trying to fly like a bird. "Ahh!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

I wasn't able to think about the thoughts that the world was collapsing right in front of me which made me run away in a panic. "She'll never forgive me! She'll never forgive me!! NEVER!!!" I screamed to myself as I jumped over the wall of the studio. I ran as fast as I could down the block until I stopped at my usual donut shop.

I went inside of the donut shop and waited on the line. When it was my turn, I ordered 3 dozens of donuts and waited for them to be made. As I was waiting for them to be finished, I was thinking back to everything that was going on with my head. "I can't let her see me like this." I said to myself.

"This was my fault. All of my fault!" I said sadly as I paid for my order and took it to the table to eat it all to myself. As I sat down, I ate every donut knowing that my life was gonna crumble away into rubble as I know it.
