~Rita's POV~

(The next day)

*October 26th*

As I was wandering around the movie lot, I saw something shiny near the water tower. "Hmm, I wonder what it is." I said to myself as I made my way there. "Where is it?" I looked around.

The sun was shining bright which made the thing I was looking for gleam. I saw it there and smiled. "Found it." I said as I admired its shine. "Hmm... New Special Friend Forever." I read the inscription on the gold heart.

"You know, this looks familiar." I said to myself as I opened it with my claw to see a picture inside of it. "Wait a minute, that's Aqua with the Animaniacs!" I gasped to myself. "She must've dropped it when she saved me yesterday." I thought about what I should do with it. "Maybe I should return it to her."

"Or you should give it to us." a familiar voice said to me.

I looked at the other side of me to see 3 other cats with smirks on their faces. These cats were no one other than Kitty Dukockis, Cat Ballue, and Kitty Litter.

I hissed and clicked the locket into place around my neck. "What do you want?"

"We want that locket. Do you know how much that locket could be worth?" Dukockis said.

"No, how much?"

"It can be worth thousands of cold hard cash! We can finally be off the streets and have a real home too!"

"Well you can't have this. This belongs to a friend of mine." I said as I started stepping back.

Ballue stopped me from stepping back further more. "But return it if you could have it to yourself Rita~?"

I covered my mouth after what she said was probably right. 'What if I kept the locket and sell it? I wouldn't be on the streets anymore.' I thought to myself. But then a flashback to yesterday brought me back.

(💭Flashback start💭)

"You'll see, give me 3 days. But you're more than welcome to stay here in the office and be well taken care of. My boss wouldn't mind it." Aqua said while she petted me.

"Are you sure?" I looked up to her.

"I'm sure of it. 3 days tops, you'll have a home in no time."

"I... I don't know what to say." I looked down and felt my chest.

"You don't have to. This is my way of making anything possible."

"Thank you Doctor. You're a real life saver." I smiled and got closer to hug her.

"It's what I do Rita. It's what I do." she smiled and hugged me back.

(💭Flashback end💭)

I shook my head after that woozy feeling came out of my head. "No, this isn't right. I can't sell this."

"Then that's why you should give it to us." Dukockis said.

"Or we can just simply take it from you." Litter smirked.

"Never!" I snapped out of it and started running away from the trio.

"After her!" Ballue said as I heard running feet after me.

'Gotta lose them! But how?' I thought to myself as I kept running away from them. I saw a trash alley and ran in there, hoping there would be a gate that could help me escape. But I skidded to a stop to find a dead end there. "Shoot."

"Here kitty kitty kitty~" Dukockis said as she and her other goonies were closing in.

I hissed. "Get away from me. I got claws and I'm not afraid to use them." I said as my claws came out.

"Well we have claws too." Ballue said as she had her claws out too.

"Give us the locket now!" Dukockis said as she closed in on me. "It belongs to me!"

"Actually, it belongs to me." a familiar voice spoke out.

I looked to see that Aqua was there. "Aqua!" I was relieved.

"Ha! I need proof that it's yours dog!" Dukockis said as she turned around to see Aqua.

"Oh, here's plenty of proof right here." she smirked and then I witnessed her shrink, just to grow into an even bigger wolf. She growled at the trio and opened her mouth to see her sharp teeth. "I eat cats that bother my friends."

"Meow..." they trembled as their fur coats grew puffy.

"Raahhh!" she roared out on them.

"Okay it's yours! See ya!" Dukockis fled with her goonies.

"Ha, scaredy cats." Aqua laughed and formed back to her normal self. "Rita, are you okay?"

"You saved me once again." I ran to her.

She petted my head. "I was so worried about you."

"Wait, you were?" I looked up to her.

"Yes I did. I was afraid when you weren't in my office today. I brought you some cat food and milk from the corner store." she said as she had a bowl of milk with a can of cat food opened in front of me.

"I'm sorry. I was distracted and saw this thing here." I said as I lowered my head and the locket dropped from my neck.

Aqua gasped. "My locket! Rita, how did you find it?"

"It was near the water tower after you saved me the first time yesterday. It must've come loose and fell there."

"Thank you so much Rita!" she hugged me. "You don't know how much this locket means to me."

"You're welcome." I purred to her warmth.

She pulled back and puts the locket around her. "I'm really lucky to have a feline just like you to look out for me."

"It's no big deal." I looked away.

"Also, remember when I said I would find you a home?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Well, it turned out to be a home and a job at the same time. So Rita, would you like to come home with me and be appointed as a therapy cat?"

I looked over to see that she had a collar and a special vest that was to suit me. I gasped and looked up to her and said, "Yes!"

"Really?" she smiled at me.

"This... This is really a dream come true, it makes me want to sing a verse!"

"Go ahead, I'll sing with you." Aqua smiled.

I cleared my throat and started to sing while Aqua sang along with me. As we were singing together, my heart was now complete. I have a new home, a new job, and now my new friend became my new owner. I was very grateful to have met Aqua and I know that she was grateful to have meet me as well. I knew that I was going to have the best time of my life as a therapy singing cat. This was definitely a dream come true for me.
