A Scare

~Yakko's POV~

(The next day)

*November 7th*

I was at home listening to Wakko and his band playing a song. I was really amazed on how good they were. After they were finished, we clapped. "That was great guys!"

"Bravo bravo!" Aqua clapped and goes up to Wakko and hugs him.

"Thank guys." Wakko hugged her back.

(Later...)

After Branch and Cress left, Max was chatting with Wakko, Dot, and Aqua. As I was about to serve lemonade to the thirsty crowd, I heard the door open and slammed. "Oh dear." I went over to the door to see that it was Rachel coming from work, and she looked really mad. "Um hey babe, what's wrong?" I chuckled nervously.

"That stupid boy, that's what!" she growled a bit.

"What boy?" I looked at her in a serious matter.

"You remember the story about my ex boyfriend?"

"Yeah..?"

"Well, Max was my ex."

I gasped. "Dot, hold the phone." I said as I literally gave her my cell phone. "Are you saying that Max, is your ex boyfriend?" I pointed to him.

"Yeah..."

"And he was responsible for hurting you?!"

"Yeah..." she hugged herself.

I was really mad, I felt myself getting really really hot. I felt my fists clenched up tight, and then my teeth got sharp. "Grr!!! Dot, give the mallet."

"But bro..." Dot said softly.

"Now!"

"Okay okay!" Dot hesitated as she gave me the mallet.

"Yakko, what are you gonna do?" Rachel asked.

"Do the right thing." I glared at Max and went straight to him. "Maximilian Goof!"

"Uhh..." Max looked at me and gulped. "Hi..?"

"You've hurt my girl and now you're gonna regret it!" I growled.

"Max run!" Wakko warned him.

"See ya!" Max zoomed out to the living room.

"Get back over here!" I yelled as I chased him all around the house. As I was chasing him around the house, I was trying to whack him with my mallet. But then I witnessed Rachel dragging him outside and he escaped. I ran out side and yelled out, "STAY OUT OF MY HOUSE!" I growled and slammed the door.

"Babe, c-calm down." Rachel said softly as her ears were drooping. "It's fine, he's gone now." she hugged me.

After she hugged me, I managed to calm down and hug her back. "Baby... I..."

"Calm down babe, you should probably apologize."

"I'm not apologizing to that jerk that hurt you. He caused all of this to you."

"Not all of it, just that one scar next to the bigger one. But you scared him away, there's no need for you to hurt him."

"But baby, I-"

"I'm okay. I'm okay." she squeezed me tighter.

I sighed and sniffed her hair scent. "I'm sorry babe, I didn't know what got over me."

"You were just doing your job. Protecting me. And I appreciate it."

"I love you too much to get hurt again." I squeezed her gently.

"But baby, you should apologize to my sister. You scared her."

"I did?"

"Look at her." she looked back to see that Wakko was hugging Aqua tight.

"It's okay baby, it's okay. Just breathe." Wakko spoke softly in her ear and soothed her back.

I shook my head and went over to her. "Was it that bad?"

"What do you think?" Dot crossed her arms.

I felt awful for scaring Aqua like that. I came up to Wakko who was still trying to put her at ease. "Is everything okay bro?"

"Bro, that wasn't cool. I know you were trying to do the right thing, but it caused my girl to be really upset. You scared her man. Her anxiety is really high at the moment." Wakko held her closer.

"I-I didn't mean it. Honest." I lowered my head a bit. What Wakko said really hurt me. But I was determined to help Aqua feel better. "Is she okay?"

Wakko took a deep breath. "She took her medicine. Just trying to ease her. But you can say a few words." he looked down. "Is that okay love?" he asked her.

"M-Mmm h-hmm..." she trembled a bit.

"Okay." he rubbed her back more and looked back up to me. "Go ahead."

"Thanks bro." I gently held her hand. "H-Hey little sis. Are you okay?"

"A bit scared. B-But I'm o-okay."

"Listen, I want to apologize for giving you a fright. I didn't know what came over me after Rachel told me that Max was responsible for hurting her and breaking her heart. I was just doing my job. Please forgive me." I gently squeezed her hand, hoping that she would.

"Aww, big brother." she looked up to me and gave me a hug. "It's okay."

I hugged her back. "I should've known better than to scare you. It wasn't right of me not to remember that you have anxiety."

"I'm okay now Yakko. I forgive you."

I hummed softly as I hugged her more, feeling a flood of relief in my mind. I was really happy that she was able to forgive me due to that scary moment. "Thank you."

"You're welcome."

"Ahem." Wakko interrupted.

"Hmm?" I looked at him.

"I think that's enough hugging now. I would like to have my ballerina back." he taps his foot.

I chuckled. "Okay. Here you go." I said as I released Aqua from my arms.

"Baby." Aqua hugged Wakko.

"My love." Wakko sighed in relief softly. "Thanks bro."

"You're welcome. Now I think it's time for us to get to sleep. Also, I don't wanna hear anything from your room you 2."

They both blushed and nodded at the same time. "Okay bye." they said as they went into their room.

I chuckled and looked back at Rachel who was wishing Dot good night. Then, she looked at me. "Hey babe."

"Hey umm... I'm sorry that I told you that and about what happened." she apologized.

"No I'm sorry that this happened. I was caught up at the moment. I'm just baffled that he hurt you."

"It's okay now. It's over, and I'm grateful that you were protecting me in a way that shows me how much you love me."

"I love you from the bottom of my heart." I hugged her.

"And I love you too. From the galaxies unknown." she hugged me.

"Thank you." I sighed in relief. I was really glad that everything turned out to be okay. Even though things went down, we managed to pull through and make things right again. And I was even more happy that my family was alright.
