Chapter 9: Flashback PT.4

"ARE YOU STILL NOT ASLEEP?!" You snapped at Eren as he was still sitting up in his bed, just staring at you.

"Keep going... I'm invested now." He said, seeming more awake than when he came in.

You laughed to yourself a bit and continued on...

*Flashback*

*The next morning*

You were eating breakfast with Simon, Ekho and Ava, you guys shared laughs as Ava raved about how she wished she could take down 'Captain meanie', as she referred to him.

"Hey, could I join you guys?" You heard Athen from behind you. Simon looked at you, almost as if he was waiting for you to approve or not.

You looked up at him and nodded. You haven't exactly talked to him ever since he said 'sorry' to you on the training grounds.

"You know, you shouldn't have spoken to (Y/n) like that." Ava said, giving him a mean glance.

"Yeah, you never push family away," Ekho chimed in, "especially in this world"

"Would you guys mind giving my brother and I some privacy?" You asked them. They all nodded, but you rolled your eyes as they all just slid down the table a few inches, probably so they could eavesdrop.

"(Y/n) I just-"

"I'm going first." You interrupted. "I'm sorry I'm always in your face and always in your business, it's just an instinct I have." You looked down at your plate. "Before mom died, she asked me to protect you and to keep you safe."

"No but I should be the one taking care of you, you're my baby sister." He cut you off before you could continue. "You don't understand when those men came and took you away when you were just a kid, how scared and mad I was that I couldn't do anything to save you. Every night I prayed that you would return to us and when you did two years later, it was like I was given another chance to keep you safe and to be a better big brother." You saw tears begin to slowly make their way down his cheeks. "But, I failed you again, now I'm the weak one and it's you who has to protect me, and I struggle to accept that."

"Athen-"

"And if it wasn't for Captain Levi slapping some sense into me, I wouldn't have understood that you protecting me, was me protecting you." He smiled at you, a few more tears sliding down his face. "You see, you wouldn't be as strong as you are without the motivation of keeping me, your family safe and alive," you felt a few tears begin to form in your eyes now, "and I will forever be grateful for that."

"I love you Athen." You smiled.

"Love you too sis."

Before you could say anything else you turned to the sound of sniffling next to you. Both Ava and Simon were crying while Ekho tried his best to comfort Ava. "You guys are making me miss my family!" Ava cried out.

After a few more minutes of trying to calm and comfort Ava for the rest of breakfast it was finally time to go out for training.

You watched as Simon fought swiftly against a trainer. He had better control, instead of being greedy with attacks that led him to many downfalls, he moved smartly and patiently.

As you fought the next one, you took him down in five moves. And you did the same when the next one, then the next one, then the next one. But every time you looked up at Levi, he looked annoyed, disappointed in your performance.

What the hell was his deal? You frowned. He's been going on about embracing your fighting abilities and now he looked as if he was disgusted by them.

After finishing up with the last trainer, you looked up and Levi's eyes were still on you but he rolled them as you got off from the man under you.

"Okay what?!" You spat at him.

Everyone turned their attention to you... again... shit you spoke up before thinking... again.

Well no turning back now. "You keep making this face." You continued.

"What?" He said, now frowning, probably mad at you from the tone you were using with him.

"You keep making this stupid face! Like a grossed out face every time I finish a fight."

"Because you're fighting stupidly." He snapped back at you.

"What?" Now you were confused.

"You could have easily taken out those men two moves earlier than you've done." He began to walk towards you, but before he could reach you, anger took over you.

He frustrated you so much! Everyone here frustrated you so much! Your head began to throb so you threw your hands in your hair and once again you felt that power grow in you.

As you looked up everything was moving so slow again. Levi was walking to you and other trainers began to approach you, but you ran away before any of them could reach you.

Now running to your room, you felt a tug on the back of your collar dragging you. You screamed at him to let go of you but he covered your mouth with his hand and threw you into his room.

"What was that!?" He yelled.

"What are you talking about Levi?! You're driving me crazy! You tell me to be grateful of my strength and the second I start to use it you-"

"Not that you idiot!"

"What?" Your voice softened.

"Your eyes." You now looked at him with absolute confusion.

As you waited for him to continue, he just sat there and stared at you.

"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!" You were already frustrated because he was judging the way you fight, now he's going on about your eyes? What the fuck did that have to do with anything?!

He still just stared at you in silence, while you were there practically having a breakdown. "LEVI?!" You spat, wanting an answer.

"They were glowing." He spoke softly.

"What?" You now stopped pacing and just stared at him. He said your eyes glowed... has he lost it?

"When I approached you, your eyes were glowing white," you started to pace again,  "other trainers ran to hold you down scared at what was happening to you" you began to run your your fingers through your hair and you started to pull on it. "but you ran past them sending three of them flying back." You paced faster and pulled harder, your breathing heavier.

"What is happening to me.." you shuttered to yourself, tears now taking over your eyes. "What is going on?!" You began to shout.

"Y/n calm down." You heard him say.

"I don't know what's happening to me!!" You screamed and cried out. Your eyes began to glow again and everything moved slowly again. Still grabbing onto your hair you shut your eyes and let out a scream of frustration and fear as you felt that same power grow inside you.

But before you could let it take over you felt a pull on the back of your neck and a set of lips went crashing into yours.

Now it get's more interesting moving forward as the relationship grows from here hehe.. Also i'm really sorry if this is boring for some of you guys:(
