Chapter 37: Season Finale

As you guys all gathered around to get Annie, to all of your disappointments, she was in this almost crystal like ball. She had covered her human body in that hardening layer of skin she used to cover certain areas of her titan body.

'Coward.' You thought to yourself. You practically threw Eren over to Armin and Mikasa, giving them the responsibility to watch over him.

You turned to see Erwin and Levi approaching, with many others following. You took a look around seeing all the damages done to the city and your eyes darted to Annie's locked up body.

Shit... you've failed again.

You wanted to scream at the top of your lungs to Annie to get her ass out of there. But Jean beat you to it.

Everyone watched as he damaged his blades over and over again trying to break through that layer she created.

"What the hell is this Annie?! After all of this?! We get the fucking silent treatment!" Jean snarled at her. "Annie! Get out of there!" He continued to try and break her out."Don't be a coward! You have to pay for all of the shit you've caused."

You were thinking the same thing. He lifted his blade to struck it again but you quickly put a hand on his shoulder

"Stop... It's no use." You sighed out. He finally put his blades down and growled in frustration towards her.

"Make a wire net! And get this thing underground!" You ordered your scouts.

"Understood!" They all stated simultaneously.

Your eyes locked on Annie's face and Hanjie took her place next to you, "If we can't get any info out of her... What's left?" She asked, her voice filled with sorrow:

"All that's left is nothing but countless casualties, ruined lives and unanswered questions." You said bluntly, annoyed that this whole thing was a complete and utter failure, and that you lead this complete and utter failure.

You jumped at the hand placed on your shoulder and you turned to see Levi. It was as if he knew you were blaming yourself for the outcome of this plan, he wrapped his arm around you and guided you away, to Erwin.

At first, you thought he was leading you there to talk to the Commander, but he pushed you a little further past him, but he paused, his grip still tight around your waist. "Seems the plan wasn't much of a success." Levi muttered out to Erwin, both not looking at each other.

Your head hung low as Erwin spoke, "no. I'd say the Scouts are in the clear now... just barely."

"Let's hope so..." And Levi gently nudged you forward to walk with him, away from Erwin.

When you both entered your room, you didn't even bother saying anything to each other, instead you just headed straight to the shower.

You were so disappointed in yourself, you really thought you could get her, now this plan just felt like an absolute waste of time, energy, money and lives. Truthfully, you felt you caused more damage than good.

Stripping from your clothes, you stared at your body for a few minutes, your eyes darting up and down at every bruise, scar and blood patches covering your skin.

You should wash this off...

Once in the shower, you took a deep breath to steady your nerves as the warm water kissed your skin. But you failed at relaxing when all you could think about is how you couldn't get that bitch Annie out to answer for her crimes.

You hated her.

You didn't know her but you hated her.

She's the reason your brother is stuck in the infirmary right now, she's the reason your old squad, your family, were all dead. She's the reason that for the first time in a long time you thought you lost Levi, and with her captured, it almost felt useless as no questions were answered. And with that, the idea of losing him might not ever disappear.

Your mind was now clouded with anger, hatred and frustrations, tears began to fall out of your eyes uncontrollably, and all you could do was stand there as you covered your mouth, trying to muffle your whimpers, so Levi couldn't hear.

But, it was too late, without opening your eyes, you heard the shower curtain open and he took his place behind you.

His bare arms wrapped around your abdomen and he pulled himself into your body, kissing the back of your shoulder and held you as you began to sob.

*Time Skip*

~ NARRATORS POV

The Scout Regiment and Eren's recall to the capital was revoked, and the scouts were placed in charge of supervising Annie underground. Hanjie, Levi and (Y/n) watched over her, examining her and trying to find different ways to get her out of there.

That was the only thing on (Y/n)'s mind... she wanted her so desperately out of there...

She stared at humanity's new threat with an evil grin plastered on her face as she imagined all the many ways she could kill her over and over and over again...
