Chapter 22

Levi helped you as you walked into the room, his arm wrapped around your waist.

He helped you strip from your clothes and handed you one of his t-shirts.

"Thank you." You told him as he handed you a glass of water after.

After he stripped from his clothes and was now just in his briefs, you quickly averted your eyes, knowing you can't have him tonight.

Which made it even harder...

He climbed into the bed purposely sleeping far away from you. You rolled your eyes at how dramatic he was being about this.

"Levi..." you whined.

"No." He said bluntly.

"You didn't even know what I was going to say." And you reached over him and grabbed his hand. "(Y/n), please don't do this to me." He grabbed your hand.

"Just hold me, please." He turned to face you and you pouted.

He sighed and turned to you completely, pulling you into his body. His chin now rested on top of your head and your face was nuzzled into his chest.

"If I was pregnant... would you have left me?" You felt him shift and then a sudden pain at the top of your head. "Ow!" You yelped, holding the top of your head. "Did you just flick me?"

"Yes idiot." Then he kissed the spot he flicked. "That was for thinking I would ever leave you."

"So what would you have done if I was?" You asked truthfully wanting to know.

"Gone along with whatever you wanted to do."

"What? What do you mean?" You didn't quite know what he meant by that.

"Whatever you chose, I would have supported you either way. I mean it is your body, so it's your decision. If you were ready then I was ready and if you weren't I would have supported your decision." You took your hand and rested it on his cheek, you loved this man so much.

You leaned up and your lips touched softly. "I love you so much." You whispered, your lips barely apart.

He pressed his forehead against yours, "I love you too." And he kissed the top of your head. "Now sleep." He ordered you and it might have been the feeling of being in his arms or maybe the stuff they injected you with at the hospital, but you fell asleep right away.

*Next Day*

You rubbed your eyes and let out a huge yawn, you rolled your body to hold levi but only felt an empty bed. You snapped up from under the sheets, your body aching.

You looked around for your uniform but couldn't see it.

You looked out the window and saw squads coming back from training and meetings.

Shit! You must have slept in.

You looked around for your uniform but couldn't find it. You went to your bag and threw on a pair of black leggings and a black knit sweater.

As you stepped out, looking for your squad, you already felt better, more energized.

You heard Ava's laugh and you turned to it, you saw your squad laughing with Erwin and they were walking your way.

"Captain!" They all ran to you.

Now in an embrace by everyone, you smiled at all of them.

When they broke apart, you saw Erwin approach you. "I heard the good news." He smiled at you. "High five!" He held his hand out awkwardly, like a dad trying too hard. You hesitantly raised your hand and clapped it with his. "Yeah!" He said, and you couldn't hold back your laugh at how awkward he was.

"Yeah, (Y/n), we need to have a chat later." Your brother said, rage in his voice.

"Anyways, glad to see you're all rested up, I took the liberty in telling your squad the plan, and if you're up for it come to my office later so you can learn it as well." He smiled at you, to which you returned.

"I'll come after I eat breakfast." You stated.

They all looked at you, like you were crazy or something. "(Y/n) it's mid afternoon."

Damn you really slept in that much?

"Well regardless, I'm starving." And you all went to go eat.

After eating breakfast/lunch and getting the final plans for tomorrow's expedition from Erwin you decided to go for a walk, since you still had so much energy from your long sleep.

"(Y/n)!" You turned to the voice and you saw Petra running to you waving.

"Hey, Petra." You waved and she hugged you.

"We miss you, just because you're not in our squad anymore, it doesn't mean you can just go and forget about us." She pouted.

"I'm sorry, I was just so busy getting my squad to work well together, that I guess hanging out with others barely crossed my mind." You told her truthfully.

It's not like you forgot about them, just responsibilities and being captain took over your life.

"It's okay, we get it, just don't forget we're a family and we always will be. Do you want to come eat with us today?" She asked, seeming like she really wanted you to.

"I'll come for a bit, but I'm not that hungry at the moment, plus I have babysitting duty over the Titan kid again." She grabbed your hand and you went into the mess hall with her.

Seeing Oluo and Eld were already sitting and you felt your heart ache a little, you missed them and you couldn't believe you almost forgot about them.

Before you even sat, you got scolded by both Eld and Oluo. "How dare you not ever visit us! Or say anything to us!"

"I-"

"Are you too good for us now?!" Eld snapped.

Oh jeez. They were really upset, how did you used to deal with them when they were like this?

Oh no! How did you even used to act with them?

As they continued to shout at you and Petra tried to calm them down, you finally remembered how you were with them, and what your relationship was like.

You smacked them both in the back of their heads, one after the other.

They both fell silent and stared at you. "Good, now that I've gotten that out of the way," you pulled them both by their collars, "don't ever yell at me like that again." And you let them go. "And I am better than you Eld, because I'm a captain now." You pushed him with your hip so he would slide to give you room to sit.

As you sat, you kept your eyes on him as his frown turned to a soft face, then to a huge smile, and he took you in his arms. "GOOD TO HAVE YOU AROUND AGAIN (Y/N)!" and you chuckled at his reaction.

Petra and Oluo smiled at you too. "So, tell us, was being Captain everything you imagined?" Oluo asked.

"Stressful, yes." You answered bluntly. "What about you guys, how's it going with Eren?" You were curious and you saw Petra's and Oluo's faces soften, almost like they were upset. "Are you guys okay?"

"Don't worry about them." Eld said. "It's just new to them to accept they have to put their lives on the line for someone they just met."

"Eren?"

"We promised we would do anything to keep that kid alive, even if it costs our own lives." Oluo said, digging at his food.

You heard him and Eld talk about how this might be their last dinner together and Petra getting mad at them for saying such a thing, but you zoned out.

They said 'they' promised, did that mean Levi too?

You stood from where you sat and they all stopped talking and just stared at you. "I have to watch over Eren tonight, I'll see you all tomorrow on the expedition," you were about to leave but you turned back to them, "and after the expedition, because none of you are dying, I will not lose my family." And they all nodded, like it was a new motive to stay alive.

And you took off to find Levi.
