Chapter 23

As you made your way to your room, hoping Levi was there, you felt a tug on your arm.

"(Y/n), what are you doing here? You're supposed to be watching over Eren." Erwin said and turned you the other way to head for the cellar.

"Erwin, could you please find someone else to take the shift for tonight? I need to talk to Levi."

"No. now go down." You rolled your eyes at him and went to the cellar.

"Stupid babysitting duty." You whispered to yourself as you made your way to Eren.

You let a huge sigh and you sunk back into the chair in front of Eren's cell. "You okay?" You heard him ask.

No. You weren't. Because your husband had to potentially sacrifice his life for this kid.

"Captain (Y/n)?" You lifted your head to look at him.

"The idea of losing Levi scares me." He now had a guilty look on his face, like he blamed himself. "It's not your fault Eren," you reassured him standing up and leaning your head against the bars of his cell, "don't forget Levi took you as his responsibility."

"I know, but I feel like this is my fault that you're scared to lose him and you're actually unsure if he will return to you this time." He was right. But you couldn't let him feel that way.

"Eren, I get worried for him every expedition he goes on. But, that's normal for a wife to do." And you saw him relax a little.

"What story do you want tonight?" You asked, heading back to your seat.

"You said you thought for a while he only told you he liked you so you would join the Survey Corps, why did you think that?"

You snickered to yourself as you recalled the time.

*Flashback*

You woke up to the sound of other cadets waking up for training. You were so tired from last night, Levi kept you up all night asking you about your life after Kenny and him telling you stories of Erwin that you would have never imagined.

"Hurry up sleepy head." Simon practically picked you up from the bed.

As you walked out with him, yawning he asked you where you were last night.

"Um, just walking around a bit." You lied scratching the back of your head.

"Really? And you didn't get in trouble?"

"Why would I get in trouble?" You looked at him confused.

"Well because trainee's aren't supposed to be out past curfew."

Shit, you totally forgot about that.

"Oh well-"

You felt a strong force tug you back!

"(Y/n)! I'm so happy to hear you joined! You're in my squad!" Hanjie squealed, your hands linked together. "Oh this is going to be so much fun!" She jumped around.

You turned and saw Simon looking at you confused. "Wait, you're-"

"SHE FINALLY JOINED!" Hanjie screamed in your ear.

"Oh..." he seemed hurt. "See you around." And he turned and walked away.

Why was he so upset?

"We need to grab your stuff and go to your new room." She smiled. "MOBLIT!" You jumped as she called for someone.

And a man came running, "Yes captain?"

"Go help (Y/n) here move into her new room." And he nodded and waited for you to take him to your bunk.
