Chapter 13

~NARRATORS POV~

Eren sat next to Eld as the rest of the squad began to eat. He watched as (Y/n) walked over, a sad look displayed on her face.

"Eren," Oluo snapped in his face, and Eren met his stare, "you need to stop staring at her before the captain notices." He said laughing a bit.

"Oh no, I- I wasn't staring." He tried to say but they all just laughed amongst themselves.

"We don't blame you, don't worry." Gunther added, his mouth still full of food.

"She is quite a sight for sore eyes." Oluo grinned at Eren.

Eren's cheeks now flushed red and he pointed in the other direction, "who's that?" They all turned to where Eren pointed.

"Ah, Athen. That's (Y/n)'s brother." Oluo said, and turned back to his plate. "Shitty scout if I must say." He added.

"No he's not." Petra defended and faced Eren. "Everyone just had very high expectations for him, you know... him being (Y/n)'s brother and all." She turned back to Athen as he walked with his squad. "He's just more-"

"Slow." Oluo cut her off.

"No."

"Weak." Eld chimed in.

"No!"

"Useless." Gunther added now all three laughing.

"NO!" Petra snapped.

"Oh come on Petra, remember when I told you about my first expedition with him? That man single handedly cost us that entire mission." Eld snarled, annoyed Petra defended him. "If it wasn't for (Y/n) that day, we would all be dead." He said, and Petra kept quiet knowing he was right, but got up and left.

"It's a shame..." Oluo looked back at him as well, "I really thought (Y/n) got away from having to clean up after him."

"What happened that day?" Eren asked, as he turned to his squad.

"Well..."

*Flashback*

Everyone rode in the formation Erwin had ordered towards the forest.

Levi had ordered (Y/n) to stay in the middle of the squad as they moved in and to only attack when in real danger. The others argued against that and suggested she should be in the front line or in the back to be the first to protect the squad against Titans, but Levi insisted she stayed there.

As they were a few kilometers away from the forest the squad noticed green flares pointing to the left, having everyone change directions. "(Y/n) fire it." Levi ordered and she loaded a green flare in the gun and shot it in the direction for the other squads to see.

They continued their way to the forest when they all noticed four flares in a row shoot up, all of them red. "Titans spotted on the left Captain!" Simon called out, and they all turned to see the flares.

"We keep moving forward." Levi demanded, and they all faced forward and rode faster.

Now seeing the forest, they all sighed, a little relieved, they would be more discrete within the trees. But all of their gazes turned as a black flare was shot up right next to them.

"Shit, Captain! What do we do?" Oluo yelled as they were worried

"Keep pushing forward." He said.

(Y/n) turned to the others looking with uncertainty, unsure of what was running through the Captains head.

As fog began to thicken and they continued on forward another black flare appeared but on the other side of them now.
