Chapter 20

You walked towards the stables with your squad. Your legs were shaking after every step you took. You were so sore from last night and Ava could tell.

"You okay hun?" She whispered to you. And you nodded, a grin on your face. "Ohhhh." And she began to giggle, linking her arm with yours to keep you balanced.

Once you arrived at the stables you heard a familiar voice call for you.

"Captain! Hey!" Eren practically leaped when he saw you. He had two others accompanying him.

"Hey Eren." You said softly.

"These are my friends Mikasa and Armin." You smiled at them both, "Guys this is Captain (Y/n) she was like my best friend here while you were all gone." He said with excitement.

"Ou, was?... You pain me Eren, nice to know I was just convenient for you." He quickly began to fumble his words and you put your hand on his shoulder and laughed. "Eren I'm kidding." He sighed in relief. "It's nice to meet you both." And Armin smiled back at you and said the same to you.

You noticed Mikasa giving you a glare, but she greeted you as well. "Eren we should-"

"How's your squad doing?" He cut her off and she looked hurt. You noticed the way she looked at him, and you right away knew she liked him.

"Um, good I actually need to go take them out for training right now so maybe we can catch up a little later." You said and he smiled agreeing and you both walked your separate ways.

"Damn Cap." Ava put her hand on your shoulder, "Dark haired bitch really didn't like you."

"Yeah. But," you turned to look at her only to find her already staring at you, "I was the same with Levi when I was younger."

*Later that day*

You had another successful day with your squad, no mishaps at all. You smiled as your brother went on about how smart the combo was that you came up with.

As you put your horse away, both you and your horse jumped at Eren's enthusiastic voice. "Woah calm down Sweety!" You steadied your horse petting her nose, "you're okay." She finally relaxed, and you turned to Eren. "Eren. You cannot surprise a horse like that, she could have run off and I would have lost her."

"I'm so sorry captain!" He still yelled and almost all the horses began to lose control. So you dragged Eren out. "I just wanted to say we watched you and your squad and we wanted to say how AWESOME you guys are!" Armin smiled in agreeance and Mikasa just nodded.

Seeing as Mikasa's jealousy grew, you smiled at them all, "Well I learned from the best."

"Captain Levi sure did teach you well." He said. "Oh yeah guys!" They both turned to look at Eren. "Captain (Y/n) is Captain Levi's wife!"

You couldn't hold back your laughter at their faces. Both in such shock.

"I know! I had the same reaction!" Eren said laughing at their faces too.

"How did you-"

"Oi! Brats!" Levi cut Armin off and you all turned to him. "Go in and get some food before it's all gone."

They all just stared at him, probably questioning how he ever married, with that emotionless face he displayed for them. "And (Y/n)!" You smiled at him. "Come with me, Commander wants to see you."

"Yes sir." You said and waved at the three kids, Mikasa and Armins jaws were opened. And you took off with Levi.

"How'd it go with the squad today?" He asked you as you walked.

"Really good! Nothing went wrong today." You smiled.

"That's good to hear, now I'm not as worried for the next mission."

You never really thought about it but Levi was so worried about losing you that it never came across your mind that you could potentially lose him as well.

"Levi?" He now looked down at you as you walked, "I hope you know I don't want to lose you either."

"I know that, idiot." And you chuckled, he completely didn't understand what you meant.

"I mean, I hope your squad does everything they can to protect you as well."

You both paused as you stood in front of Erwin's door and your heart sank as Levi only looked at you and knocked on the door, not answering you.

You were about to say something but Erwin swung the door open.

"Ah, (Y/n), come in." And you watched as Levi took his leave.

You stepped into Erwin's office now feeling concerned and worried for him.

What did Erwin have planned that Levi couldn't even guarantee his safe return to you.

"You're familiar with my formation." You snapped back to Erwin.

"I've been familiar with it for a couple of years now." You answered.

"Good," he pointed down to the map and circled an area, "this is where I want your squad." He said and looked up at you.

"Okay." You said and you knew he was talking but a weird sensation took over your body. You could barely hear a word coming out of his mouth all you heard was. 'Don't tell others your plan'. You gulped down hard, your head spinning a bit and then you felt.... nauseous.

"(Y/n)?" You looked up and everything was spinning, "did you get that?" You shook your head, not getting any of it and you ran to the corner of his office and threw up.

"(Y/n)! Are you okay?!" Erwin ran to you as you continued to puke.

What just happened? You held your stomach as Erwin handed you a cloth to wipe your mouth.

As he rubbed your back, your eyes widened and your head snapped up to Erwin, who now looked at you confused, but still concerned.

"What day is it Commander?"

"What?"

"What's the day?! The number!" You now shouted.

"The 18th." He said, with concern.

"Shit." You sat back, Erwin still holding you to keep you upright.

You were late.
