The decision wasn't an easy one for Doug.

At this every moment Garrett and a group of others headed through the woods to cut off David and his men. Joe, Jessica and Dylan were the only ones from Doug's group to tag along. Dylan because he was the only one with military experience. At the young age of 26 he was wounded as a marine and then discharged. Now, he was 28, he worked at a logging company, that's why he grew the beard out and looked like a mountain man.

Joe came because he felt like he had too, he couldn't just sit and watch David and his men could to molest the women in his extended family. It was time for him to act.

Jessica was the only one who knew where David's route was taking him. Hopefully the group would get the the point before David and his group drove through.

The wood lands were quiet except for the sound of their own footfalls against the leaves on this cold fall evening. Ahead the forest trees are thinner, a clearing perhaps or a glade? As they draw closer they can see that it is neither. Its a road.

"This is it." Jessica muttered as everyone began to catch their breath.

"Think we made it before them?" Mitchel questioned looking down the road in both directions.

Dylan cocked his head and seemed to study the woodlands around him. "Only one way to find out. We split up on either side of the road. This has to be a military type movement. Whose the best shot here?" Rebecca raises her hand slightly. "Take this." He hands over his hunting rifle. "It shoots just to the left a little, get up in that tree. As soon as the hummers get into our field of fire, shoot the driver. That will disable the whole convoy."

"Got it." Rebecca said grabbing the rifle from him.

"The rest of you...." Dylan looked at the others around him. "You guys gonna be alright under fire?"

With a little bit of instruction from Dylan, the group splits up on either side of the road. The plan was that Rebecca would shoot the driver of the first hummer, then the convoy would stop. Dylan, Connor, Kenny and Joe would rise up and start to shoot. Causing the men to run in fear or hide behind the vehicles. That would make them easy targets for Garrett, Mitchel and Lucas.

The three of them are behind a downed tree. It seemed to have fallen along time ago. But still it seemed solid enough to catch the bullets for them. They rested their heads against the tree to try and get some sleep, or a small nap before the bullets flew by.

Its not like they could actually sleep though. Each and every one of them were afraid, but they didn't let each other know they were. "What happened, back at the warehouse." Garrett began. He laid in the middle of Lucas and Mitchel. But it appeared that Mitchel was sleeping, somehow.

"Don't worry about it." Lucas told him. It was the first time in her life where she was almost raped. She could still smell Bob's bad breath somehow.

"You can't just forget about something like that...."

"I can...and I did." Lucas mumbled, the look on her face. Garrett could tell she was thinking about that moment. Her face quickly changed when she realized Garrett was looking right at her. She smiled, "Besides, you've saved me twice." She used her fingers as quotation marks when she said saved. "Let me save you once...let me catch up."

Garrett laughed. "Yeah, hold on. Let me go find something dangerous."

A branch breaks and their eyes turn and look in the direction of the sound. A Walker appears, This male Walker is elderly and has blue eyes, a dark complexion, and wavy brown hair left uncut.  He is a little short, of average weight, and is wearing very little clothing to speak of.
