The once rosy complexion of Connor Rhimes is now waxy and pale. The mouth that was so quick to smile in life lies stiff and agape. The arms that held one tight when a friend was sad or lost are now like the limbs of a rag doll violently thrown. The legs that used to take him to places are twisted up unnaturally into a position no living person could maintain.

A dark red pool under his head formed from the blood leaking through the hole in his neck. It matted his medium blonde hair. Even with all this, staring at his lifeless form they couldn't believe he was gone. Something with that much life could not just disappear.

The flies already found his body when Garrett, Lakota, Mitchel and William approached the lifeless form. They could hear the tiny beating of the wings.

Mitchel broke down almost immediately at the sight of the body as the others continued to go towards their fallen friend. Mitchel fell to his kneels. It was almost like the last breath had been pulled from his lungs.

"Will." Garrett motioned and pointed towards the body. He wanted William to take a look at Connor's body. He stood watch over the scene just in case whoever did this hadn't left yet. He held the double barreled shotgun in his hands that he had gotten from Lakota.

He felt sad about Connor's death and Lucas's disappearance. The two of them didn't tell anybody where they were going however; this whole thing could have been avoid. The question wasn't in his mind if Lucas had killed Connor. He knew she wouldn't.

"Two or three hours." William mutter quietly as he stood up from the body. He gave Garrett a rough estimate on how long the body has been lying there. Something wasn't right, he felt it in his gut. The bullet that killed Connor was the bullet through the neck, not the blade to the head.

Back at the farmhouse, hats about the time that the attack on Connor must have occurred. They didn't hear the gunshot that put Connor down. Nor did they hear the return fire from Lucas. Maybe the crackling of the fire softened the bullets popping from a distance, but he was sure he would have noticed.

William looked around the area and saw nothing that caught his attention until he laid his eyes upon a set of tire tracks.

He moved quickly which made the others notice and watch him for a few moments until once again he knelt down and placed his hands down on the tire imprints. The scene of what unfolded here suddenly began to paint a picture for him. "We were being hunted." He muttered silently, just loud enough for him to hear.

"What was that Will?" Garrett walked in William's direction.

"We were being watched." He stood up and brought the hunting rifle that he had on his back to his front. His hands quickly found the bolt action mechanism and he cocked it back to make sure he had a bullet in the chamber. He did. Then he cocked it back in place. "Whoever did this was watching us."

"How long were they watching us?" Garrett's eyes narrowed.

"I can't tell you." William responded as his eyes scanned the trees in front of them. "They must have known we were in the farmhouse. They just waited until they could get a couple of us alone. Lucas and Connor walked right into their trap."

Garrett slammed his fist onto a tree that was nearby. "What are the odds that Lucas is still in the area?"

"I think the better question is, what are the odds she is still alive?" William corrected him. He was greeted by the narrowed eyes of Garrett telling him that he was not pleased with the response. "What do cops do?" He thought for a minute. "72 hours right? Then the chance of finding her drops pretty great." He thought he remembered Shane saying something about that.
