"Put your gun on the ground and kneel." Garrett remarked aiming his colt to her head. Lakota immediately dropped the shotgun she held in her hands and dropped to her knees.

Connor quickly came over. "Don't, she is one of us!" He tried to reason with Garrett, but he wasn't sure if what he was saying was going through Garrett's mind.

He seemed to be fighting himself as he stood there holding the colt at the girls head. He couldn't trust anyone anymore, his people couldn't trust anyone anymore. She could be from David's group and that's the last thing he wanted to do right now. This girl that he knew nothing about, she was a threat and threats were eliminated.

"Garrett...." Connor said coughing again making him snap back to reality. "There has to be a reason you haven't pulled that trigger yet."

Garrett eyes glanced over to Connor, then he laid eyes on the girl in front of him. She was easy on the eyes with long brown hair. At five foot six inches, she had a kind of understated beauty, perhaps it was because she was so disarmingly unaware of her prettiness. Her white skin was completely flawless and glowed. It was her inner beauty that lit her eyes and softened her features. With her looks and high cheek bones it was all too simple. Nothing so pretty could possibly harm you, right?

"I didn't want to waste the bullets." He told Connor has he had his left hand on the machete which as still attached to his belt.

She remained on her knees in front of the guy that Mitchel talked so highly about. Now Mitchel stood to the side and watched as Garrett pondered whether or not to kill her. This was the first time in her life someone has ever pointed a gun at her. However; she was weirdly calm as she stared up the barrel. She saw his lips move, but she didn't hear any words come out. She was focused on the gun in front of her.

"Lakota..." Connor's voice was soft and comforting as her face turned to meet his. "You have to answer his question." She looked back up at Garrett.

"I said...." Garrett talked and waved his colt around. Her eyes never left his. "Do you want to live?" She quickly shook her head, yes. Garrett walked next to her and placed the barrel of the colt next to her head and pulled the hammer back so that the gun clicked. He knelt down, and whispered in her ear, "Then tell me where your group is."

She shivered as his words entered her ear. "They are dead." She admitted.

"How?"

She had lied to Mitchel and Connor about her old group. They weren't good people. They were people that killed others for the things they had. They wanted those things so that they could live. She knew that almost everyone alive now was a bad person. She was also a bad person.

Again Garrett spoke. "We have all done something.....what have you done?" He tried to pry the answer from her.

"I killed them." She said softly. Connor slowly stepped away from her and merged with the others who continued to watch.

"How many people have you killed?"
