(Three Years ago, Day 3)

Garrett has rolled down the windows in the truck maybe an hour or so ago. According to the maps that were inside of Chris's truck, the CDC isn't too far away. They have made little to no stops while journeying down towards the Pittsburgh area. The only stop was at a gas station to get gas, but the pumps were empty and nobody was there. The other vehicles, the jeep and the cobalt have enough gas to drive down plus a little more. The truck has just enough gas to get to the building and that's it, if they are lucky.

The ride down has been easy going, no one has spoken inside the truck. An occasional Walker will appear in a ratty-old clothing every once in a while, but they could easily drive away from it if need be.

With the breeze rolling in the windows Garrett lets out a sigh, "Why did you come back?" The question was directed at Lucas. Mitchel had tried to get her to say why when they were back at the school, but she didn't give an answer.

Without looking at Garrett, Lucas replies, "I don't know, I just did."

"You could have easily left." Garrett responded right back to her. He looks ahead and continues to drive. "I can tell you don't like being with us, I can't really blame you." Garrett glances over at her and she is staring at the window seeming to be watching a lone Walker in the field walking parallel to the road. "Well, whatever the reasons are, I'm glad you came back." He knew better to pick and pry with her.

"Is that it up there?" Deanna said pointing to a building that seemed deserted. Around this building are multiple military vehicles, four tanks and five hummers. As they get closer they see the big blue sign that welcomes them to the CDC. Scattered around the buildings are dead bodies, some not so fresh bodies.

"Christ....." Garrett mumbles to himself as he continues to drive forward. They drive forward and park behind a row of cars, the first one in line is a RV, a Winnebago type of camper. It's definitely an old one. There a few other modern cars parked behind the RV. The entire group get out of their vehicles and walk over to where Garrett is standing and looking at the building.

"My guess is that there is no one in there." Mitchel scoffed as he holds his shotgun.

"I don't know about this anymore either." Torri said agreeing with Mitchel.

"All we have to do is get inside, maybe someone is in there." Garrett said with his hands calming everyone down.

"Maybe it's best we by past this place and go back home." Connor suggested. "After all, we know the terrain up there."

William finally comes over to the group, he has grabbed an axe from the back of his truck and he rests it over his shoulders. "The hell with you people, how about you show some trust in him for a minute, he fuckin' got you here didn't he? At least give him the chance to do something with the place....god damned morons."

"Fancy." Mitchel laughed. "Fancy that.....you taking orders from the guy that murdered your girlfriend."

"Better than taking orders from your dumbass." William grumbled as he started to walk towards the building. The others follow him, slowing going though. They each seem to be looking at the bodies the cover the ground.

Garrett kneels down at this one body. He is in military uniform, with a helmet and desert camouflage colors. The kid looked a little older then himself, but not by much. The soldier was bit in the leg, right above the left knee. In his hands the gun that killed him. Judging by the position of the body, the soldier shot himself. He put the gun and his mouth and pulled the trigger. Was it an order? Or did he not want to turn? Carefully and gently, Garrett pries the cold dead fingers off of the pistol. He then stands up and puts it in the back of his pants, and covers his shirt with it.
