-Present Day-

Agent Fields has stopped typing a while ago. He reached behind him and took out a gun, a German-built 10mm Glock Automatic. He was made sure it was loaded before setting it down somewhere. "I hope you don't mind me setting this here." Said Fields. "It has just been digging into my back for the longest time."

Garrett didn't take his eyes off the gun. He knew this guy has packing heat, he just didn't know what kind of. He smirks to himself as Agent Fields has a puzzled look on his face. Then Garrett goes to explain.

"I've killed many people with the greatest of ease." Garrett boasted with that same smirk on his face. Then he meets the Agent's eyes. "If you think you are going to kill me think again." He knew better to trust a person with a gun, let alone having the gun in plane sight in front of both of them. "I. Don't. Die."

Fields met Garrett's glare head on. But then curiosity filled his mind. How could this guy not die? What has he been through for him to say that? After-all; everything dies. There was a seriousness about Garrett that unnerved the Agent.

"You don't die?" Fields repeated the exact same words in the way he heard them.

"After everything I witnessed, after everything I have been through I wanted to die. But damn me if I was gonna let one of those things out there do it for me!" Garrett explained to Fields as he brought out a notebook and a pencil and began to write down the things Garrett was saying. "After....after it..... There was nothing left, but there were people you see. We told them what we had because we had things. Those bad people, they made us forget hat we wanted because they made us kill them! And the other bad people?" Garrett begins to laugh. It is a more demonic laugh than anything else. "They helped us kill him. And then that man's group lost it after a while. They lost their minds, their stomachs, their senses and then they would die. Or my people would kill them. Or both." There is a long pause as Fields begins to gather what Garrett is saying. "Everybody turns Fields."

"I know what happens...."

"You don't know the half of it!" Garrett screamed at the top of his lungs, as if he was remembering a bad memory.

-Three Years Ago, Five Months After the World Went to Shit-

Garrett and his small group eventually got to the Greene's farm and set up camp with Rick and the others.

Hershel Greene, the owner of the farm, has told stories of being raised by an abusive, alcoholic father, which resulted in him running away from the farmhouse at 15 years old and later not being at his father's deathbed. During his time away from the area, he became a veterinarian. At some point, he married a woman named Josephine, and settled back on the farm.

Within the first few years of their marriage he followed in his fathers footsteps; he descended into alcoholism; however, he managed to give up the habit once Maggie was born. When Maggie was older, Josephine died, which ultimately led Hershel to marry another woman named Annette who had a son of her own from a previous marriage, Shawn, and have a daughter with her whom they named Beth.

Sometime after the apocalypse began, he lost Annette and his step-son to the hordes of zombies. He and the rest of his group remained unaware of the reality of the outside world and strongly believed that there could be a cure. As a result of this mistaken belief, Hershel kept a large group of walkers, mostly family and friends, locked in a nearby barn. Jimmy, a neighbor boy is also there and is assumed to by Beth's boyfriend.

Daryl, along with Mitchel were put in charge for the search of Sophia and both became close to Carol as a result. Garrett and Deanna have grown further apart. Glenn  has started to build a romantic relationship with Hershel's daughter Maggie and discovers that Hershel's barn is full of walkers, many of whom in life had been Hershel's friends and relatives. When Shane forces the walkers out of the barn, and the group opens fire, Sophia appears as one of the undead, and Rick shoots her.

The bonds of the group are tested in the aftermath of the showdown at the barn. Carol, in her grief, withdraws, as does Daryl, who claims that the group is "broken". Mitchel had believed it was his fault that Sophia was in there in the first place. He went after her and should have been able to save her. Finding Sophia alive meant alot to everyone.

Hershel, reacted to what Shane did and orders Rick and the others to leave immediately, before disappearing to grieve for his family. Rick, Garrett, Kenny and Glenn go searching for Hershel and discover him drinking heavily in a local tavern. After trying to persuade Hershel to return, two other men enter the bar, survivors from another group. They tell Rick that Fort Benning has been overrun, and the two men insist on moving onto Hershel's farm, only to be repeatedly turned down by Rick. The situation rapidly turns violent, and there is a brief, bloody gunfight that leaves the two new arrivals dead.

The dead men's former group quickly finds and opens fire on Rick, Hershel, Garrett, Kenny and Glenn. The noise of the firefight attracts a large horde of walkers, and in their desperation to get away, the other group of survivors leaves Randall, one of their members, behind. Rick cannot stand the thought of leaving him to be killed by walkers, so the three blindfold him and take him to the farm.

Back at the farm, Kenny comes clean and tells Garrett that he is secretly seeing Deanna. Garrett immediately loses the trust of both of them and sets off down a dark path on his own. He disappears from the farm for a while. Dale is the one that found him and brought him back to the camp. His clothes were all bloodily and the baseball bat that he had taken with him was found broken. He went on a killing spree on the Walkers in the nearby area.

There was something in his eyes that wasn't right.
