I was packing my bags to leave for Asgard when I heard a knock at my door. When I opened it, I was instantly glad that I had sent Loki away earlier so I could get things ready for my trip to Asgard, otherwise the person standing in front of me would most likely be dead by now.
"What do you want Steve?" I asked him as turned back to my packing.
"I want to explain what happened."
"Fine, who is she," I yelled at him, finally losing it.
"She's no one, she kissed me," he tried to explain.
"I don't want to talk about it right now. If I do, I'm going to say or do something I may regret."
"Please, Kimberly you have to listen to me," he pleaded with me as I slammed my suitcase shut. I could feel my resolve start to slip; I knew he was telling the truth from the tone in his voice. But I couldn't just let it go so easily, he shouldn't have been in that situation to begin with. He was too gullible for his own good and maybe this way he will finally learn.
"You heard the girl Rogers, get lost."
I looked up to see Howard standing at my door looking angrier than I had ever seen him. I knew that this wasn't going to end well unless I stepped in.
"Howards wait for me..." I started to say before Steve cut me off.
"Back off Stark, this is none of your business."
"Too hell it's not Rogers. She's my friend and you hurt her!"
"Both of you stop it! Howard, wait for me outside. I won't be long. Steve we will talk about this when I get back," I told them as I walked between the two to stop them for actually hitting each other.
"Fine, I'll see you outside," Howard said as he walked out of the room.
"But Kimberly..." Steve started to say but I held a hand up to silence him.
"Hold it right there Steve, Loki was here earlier and knows everything. If you don't want to die an extremely painful death, I would leave now as there would be nothing I could say to stop him. Loki is extremely protective of me."
Steve sighed, clearly knowing I was right.
"Ok, Kimberly. I get it. But I just want you to know that I really do love you."
Before I could say anything to him, he walked out the door and I felt like I had made the biggest mistake of my life.
