Life returned to normal as soon as I got back to the SSR's base. Howard managed to get hold of the "files" that I left to get, so where I really went for the few days wasn't known. When I asked where he got the notes, he would just smile and not answer me. The work that I had missed out on during my trip to Asgard had piled up on my desk. Howard had made a break through on the tesseract powered weapons and I need to compare his notes to what I had learnt during my stay in Asgard.

Steve had finalised his team during the days I was away. Dum Dum had come up with the name The Howling Commandos, much to Col. Phillips displeasure. The team consisted of Bucky, Falsworth, Dum Dum, Jim, Gab and Jacques. They were an oddly matched team, but they worked well together. Even with Gab having to translate everything that Jacques said, luckily, he understood English making it easier to go over plans.

They were due to go out on their first mission two days after I arrived back from Asgard. Learning that the first mission was only days away, I threw myself in to my research to find a way they might be able to protect themselves against the tesseract powered weapons.

"Are you going to be up all-night reading, or are you still mad at me," Steve asked me at 2 am, the morning of their first mission.

"I'm not mad at you Steve, I love you and you know it. I'm just trying to match up the information that I got while I was in Asgard to what Howard has found out," I told him as I closed the files in front of me.

"And you need to do this at two in the morning? You should be a sleep."

"You should be too. You're the one with the mission tomorrow, not me."

Steve laughed as he walked over to my desks and sat down. When he saw all the other open files on my desk, he closed them and pushed them away so they are out of my reach.

"How about we make a deal. I'll get some sleep, as long as you do."

"Fine, but I'm not promising that I will actually sleep. I'm really not that tired," I told him, fighting off a yawn as I got up from behind my desk.

"I'll be happy as long as you get a little sleep. You have been in this office for days and I have to force you to come out and eat," he said as he pulled me out of my office and closed the door behind him.

I yawned as we walked towards my room, leaning on Steve for support. I had to admit, I was tired. I hadn't slept properly since my last night in Asgard two nights ago. As I yawned for a second time, Steve picked me up and carried me bridal style to my room.

"And you said that you weren't tired."

"Be quite Steve, I'm trying to sleep," I joked as he opened the door to my room.

When he placed me down on my bed, I kicked my shoes off and flopped back down onto the bed.

"You know, after staying in Asgard and sleeping in the beds in the palace, these beds really feel like bricks."
