"You stay in the car." I told Jerome and opened my door.
"What? No way." He growled and grabbed my arm, preventing me from leaving. I looked back at him.
"I don't want you to see the dress yet."
"Then I'll close my eyes." He declared and jumped out of the Bentley. I sighed with frustration and got out too.
Then I looked around in search of a patch of grass. I noticed one right away. It was covered with trash, but it was still soil. I quickly took off my shoes, threw them in the car and headed to it.
"Grey!" Jerome called, ran up to me and clutched my hand. I chuckled.
"What are you doing? I was just going across the street."
"I'm going to make damn sure we get to the altar. I'm not risking you getting hurt when we're this close to finally getting married." He said firmly and wrapped his arm around my waist. I smiled to myself and jumped on the grass.
"Besides, what are you doing?" His brows creased with confusion. Then he looked down at my feet, and his eyes widened.
"Do you want to get sick?" He panicked like a neurotic mother and picked me up from the wet ground. I started giggling.
"Honey, I'm fine." I cupped his worried face and pecked his lips.
"We'll be safer if I do this." I smiled softly. He cocked his eyebrow.
"Place me back on the ground, and I'll show you."
He groaned with frustration but complied. As soon as I had my feet on the ground, I grew two thick rose stems full of thorns.
I ended them with small bits without the spikes and wrapped them around my ankles.
"This is ridiculous." I muttered to myself.
"How will that help?" He asked.
"Want me to wrap them around your neck and squeeze?" I grinned and traced my finger on his scar.
"No, I'm good." He grinned awkwardly and stepped back.
I chuckled and started moving the vines forward, carrying myself in the process.
"I don't like this." Jerome grumbled behind me.
"Why?" I looked back at him. He had his arms crossed on his chest and he was staring at his shoes.
"I don't get to hold you." He grouched.
I smiled and swiftly got right in front of his face, causing him to flinch with surprise.
"I can carry you too." I proposed.
"No." He frowned deeply. I sighed and looked at the vines. I suppose I don't need to carry myself.
I moved away from him, placed my feet back on the ground and buried one of the vines in the ground.
Then I crouched down wrapped the remaining vine around my wrist and straightened myself up.
"Happy now?" I reached out my hand to the clingy ginger.
He grinned widely, paced over to me and snaked his arm around my waist. Then he planted a sloppy kiss on my cheek.
I giggled and continued heading towards the store. Then my phone rang. I stopped and quickly picked up.
"Grace, what the hell!?" Barbara screeched into my ear. I grimaced with discomfort.
"What is Ivy Pepper doing here!?" Why is she covering my club with plants!?" She lashed out.
"Barbara, just let her. I'll get rid of everything later, all right? Just don't tell her no." I sighed deeply.
