The second we entered the main room of the GCPD, I noticed Lee tending to various injured refugees, and my face fell.

"I knew we forgot something." Jerome muttered and entwined his hands behind his back.

"I completely forgot she existed because of the baby." I mumbled with horror. She turned around suddenly and noticed us.

"Grace, you're ok." She breathed with relief, ran up to me and enveloped me in a hug.

My eyes widened, and I looked up at Jerome. He cocked his eyebrows. I hesitantly returned the embrace.

"Lee, I'm so sorry we left you there. It's just...the baby. I panicked. I-"

"It's ok." She sighed and took a step back. I swallowed heavily.

"I'm just glad she didn't blame you for Ra's death too." She smiled weakly.

"I may be a tiny bit responsible." I muttered. Jerome's and her's eyebrows shot up.

"No, you're not." Bruce shook his head.

"All right, fine, but I was still there." I grumbled. He chuckled and nodded slowly.

"Uh, the, uh..." I started murmuring. He got what I meant and turned to Lee.

"We need Jeremiah's bomb." He told her, and I nodded. She was clearly confused by our request.

I sat down in the corner of one of the GCPD offices and leaned on my knees. I could hear Jerome move a chair and sit down in front of me.

"You ok, Gorgeous?" He asked, cupped my face and tilted it up.

"I just wish I knew all this would happen before I gave my cat to Tom." I grumbled. He snorted with laughter.

"And, you know, I also kinda thought we would be on a boat right now and heading to England." I sighed with frustration. He pulled his mouth in a straight line and nodded.

"We could be." He shrugged suggestively. I shook my head.

"I'm not leaving yet-"

"We." He interrupted me.

"Yes, fine, we." I chuckled weakly.

"We are not leaving because Barbara is our good friend, right?" I cocked my eyebrows cynically.

"So you're not leaving, ok, all right." He squinted and nodded. I grinned widely.

Then two cops brought Jeremiah's engine into the room and placed it in the corner diagonal to the one we were in.

"We're in the corner of the GCPD..." Jerome mused as he stared at the machine. I giggled and stood up.

"I like it better than standing on the table, following crazy orders and killing people." I sneered, ruffled his hair and walked up to the engine.

"I go back and forth." He declared and fixed his hair in the mirror. I chuckled to myself.

"Grace, hi." Lucius said suddenly and came up to me.

"Hi, Lucius." I grinned at him, let my curls fall out of my bun and began to tie it anew.

"Ey." Jerome spoke up. We both looked at him.

"I'm pretty sure if you stare at my wife any harder, you'll see what's behind her." He grinned viciously at Lucius. I chuckled and shook my head.

"I-I'm n-not-"
