"What do you think Hatter wants?" I asked Bruce as we both sat in the Batmobile and tried to get to Jervis in time.

"He's just a lunatic. He got bored." He rasped. I nodded weakly.

"You know, he always called me Alice." I told him. His head snapped to me, and I could see a slight panic in his eyes.

"Do you know what happened to the real Alice? To his sister?"

"No. Why are you so jittery?"

"Why aren't you?" He scoffed.

"He never hurt me. He was never weird. Well, except for when he hypnotised Jerome into kissing another woman."

"Whatever. He doesn't know you're you, so we should be fine." He spoke and sped up the car.

"What happened to the real Alice? I thought he lost her."

"He did. But it was his fault. She chose death instead of a life with him in it." He told me. My eyebrows shot up.

"Do you know anything else?" I asked carefully. He shook his head.

"Hopefully, Jim, Jim, Jim can do what he did last time to stop those folks from jumping." I noted and looked at the people standing on the ledges of buildings.

"Jim, Jim, Jim?" He repeated with confusion.

"That's what he calls him." I clarified. He nodded and abruptly parked the car.

"I think that clucking cop means he's close." He said and pointed to the policeman acting like a chicken on the side of the road. I chuckled, nodded and jumped out of the Batmobile.

He got out right after me, and we immediately hurried towards the screams and various other noises. As always, the only things we passed were the police and news vans. Only, that time, almost everyone was under Tetch's spell. We got to the spot where Jervis was, and I quickly put in special headphones I made to distort voices on command.

"Go on. They work." I whispered as Bruce turned the same function on his glove. His headphones were just hidden in his mask.

"I trust that." He whispered back. I grinned widely.

Hatter then suddenly noticed us and excitedly threw his hands up. I promptly turned on the pitch distortion.

"Heroes of Gotham! The dynamic duo! How nice of you to show! Now scram!" He ended with a furious yell. I snorted with laughter and grabbed my staff.

"What do you want, Hatter!? Bored, are we!?" I exclaimed and stepped closer to him.

"I have my yearn. It's none of your concern." He smiled at me politely and tipped his hat.

"You're about to kill a whole lotta people, Tetch. That makes you our concern." I noted and gestured to Bruce.

Suddenly someone grabbed me from behind. I immediately threw my body forward and hurled the man off of me. Thugs then started crowding Bruce, but he had no problem with punching them out of his way. I giggled at it and straightened myself up.

"I needed your attention to procure help with an intervention." Jervis whispered excitedly behind me.

I didn't even get a chance to turn around before he hit me on the back of my head and knocked me out.

Jerome P.O.V.

I sat on the bed and tried to fill the time before Grey got back by drawing in my diary. Nothing was working, though, and I was close to crying out of boredom. My head was hanging from the bed for about half an hour, and as much as I felt like throwing up, I didn't want to move.
