After Jeremiah left, I tried my best to go back to sleep, but I just couldn't. I couldn't stop thinking about what he said. That he left because he was sure Jerome would hurt him.
I knew they didn't like each other, but there was no way Jerome would ever actually do anything to his brother. I also had no idea how he would react to Jeremiah running away. He certainly isn't going to cry after him, but who knows?
Then I thought about Lila, and that's when I really started getting worried. She didn't treat Jerome right before. What will she do now, after Jerome caused her favourite son to leave?

I woke up around 7 AM, rapidly got dressed and went over to Jerome's trailer. The second I knocked on the door, it flew open, and I was met with Lila's furious glare. She was clearly very drunk.
"What the hell do you want, Watson?" She slurred out.
"Is Jerome here?" I asked gently, knowing full well to be careful around people like her.
"No, he is not." She scoffed, raised a flask of vodka to her lips and gulped it down.
"I sent the little halfwit especially early to work today, and you won't disturb him." She pointed to me with the bottle and spilt some. I frowned deeply.
"Go back home, and maybe he'll visit you after he's done shovelling shit." She spat hatefully and took a step back.
"Since that's all he's good for." She added and smirked wickedly to herself. I glared at her with pure loathing and opened my mouth to argue.
"And if you're still thinking about going to him..." She cut in and pushed her damp auburn hair off her face.
"Lemme just tell you that I'll be sitting right here, watching your door like a goddamned hawk." She gritted through her teeth.
"And if I see you go out, I'm going straight to your uncle. He's a very busy man, and we wouldn't want to disturb him. Now would we?" She grinned nastily.
I grimaced with utter contempt, spun on my heel and stomped over to my trailer.
Then before I entered it, I glanced at her one more time.
My eyes narrowed with sheer disbelief when she chuckled, waved to me and closed her door.

I spent the whole day sitting on the couch, anxiously waiting for Jerome to get back. I couldn't focus on anything, and I was too scared to even open my door.
I didn't want to risk upsetting Lila. And who knows what my uncle would do if he thought I was causing trouble. I didn't want to chance anything.
My eyelids felt really heavy since I didn't get much rest last night. I tried to stay strong, but sleep won, and my mind drifted away.

I felt hands grab my shoulders and pull me up slightly. I was still essentially asleep, so I didn't really realise what was happening. Not until the person placed their lips on my cheek.
I quickly jumped away and started screaming and kicking, trying to push the intruder away. I kept my eyes shut, too scared to open them.
"Hey! Grey, it's me! It's Jerome!" Jerome panicked, tried to grab me and calm me down.
I stopped struggling and carefully opened my eyes. The ginger was staring at me with deep regret in his green orbs.
"I'm so sorry, Gorgeous. I wanted to move you to the bed, so you would be more comfortable." He muttered apologetically. I gradually sat up and rubbed my face, trying to fully calm down.
