27. heartbreak

Draco closes the door behind him and walks over to you. He attempts to grab your hands but you pull them back and take a step away from him, his face falling farther than it was before.

Draco: I didn't think Pansy would kiss me.
You: Yet you didn't pull away?

He looks down at his feet, twisting his rings on his fingers. You cross your arms over your chest and chew on your bottom lip. He looks back up at you not saying a word. You both stand there and stare at each other, not saying anything.

Draco: Ugh, fuck! I know I fucked up, okay! I'm sorry. But, you danced with Weasley when you said you wouldn't dance with anyone.
You: He asked nicely and Harry was trying to dance with someone else I wasn't going to stand there and look like an idiot. I saw Cedric stare at me as I stood there. If Ron didn't ask, he would have. Who would you have wanted me to dance with then, Ron or Cedric?
Draco: No one.

You stare at this stubborn boy, your eyebrows raised.

You: You...you cheated on me Draco. Behind my back, literally. If you would have pulled away I wouldn't be mad.
Draco: I fucking did...I...
You: Personally, I think you shouldn't have danced with her.
Draco: You were dancing with that fucking Weasley so I decided to...
You: Pay me back for dancing with the one person that I absolutely loathe?
Draco: The same goes for you!
You: Draco! It was just a dance!
Draco: But he asked you out!
You: You fucking idiot of course I said no! Draco, I don't know what to fucking say to you other than I'm absolutely shattered and I don't want to even look at you.

Draco's face completely shatters, tears begin to well up in his eyes.

Draco: No...please...
You: I can't do this. You cheated on me, right there. You knew that Cedric cheated on me and I was absolutely broken so then you, decide to do it!?
Draco: But...
You: No, I don't want to hear the excuse. I can't do this Draco. One person cheating on me is hard, but two?

You begin to unclip his mother's necklace as he quickly walks over to you and puts his hands on his cheeks.

Draco: Please, don't... don't do this.

You don't say anything as you set the necklace, bracelet and rings down on his bed. You shake his hands off and walk to the bathroom to grab everything before walking out of his room. Draco stands there and doesn't say anything as he watches you pack all of your things up again. You walk to the door but feel his hand on your arm.

Draco: Baby, please. Don't leave me I didn't mean anything I...

You stand there and look at the door trying to hold in your tears.

You: Goodbye Draco.
Draco: No! You don't get to walk away so fucking easily! You won't even let me explain...
You: I don't need an explanation, I saw everything.
Draco: So that's it then? After all the secrets and promises?

You stare at the door. You don't want it to be. You want to stay with him and not walk away.
"But he cheated on you, you dumbass. Just like the last. What makes you think he won't do it again," your brain says, shattering your heart.

You: Goodbye Draco.

You feel his hand let go and you walk out of the room. You close the door and then slide down it, falling to the floor. You hear Draco fall to the floor and begin to sob and cry with you. You cry as you hear him throw something against the wall.

Draco: God fucking dammit!

You wipe the tears off of your face and you walk into your room and see Alice waiting for you.
"It was going to happen sooner or later, anyways," you think to yourself as you walk into your room.
Alice stands up and looks down at the stuff in your hands. She brings her hands to her face when she sees your empty neck, wrist and fingers. She walks over to you and hugs you as you break down in her arms.
