Chapter 13

Grayson's POV
I wasn't feeling myself for a few days because of this whole thing with Gaby.
I wasn't trying my hardest in football practice & tomorrow night is the big homecoming game. I don't wanna let anyone down, especially Ethan who has worked so hard on this. But I'm not in the best mood to do this.
After practice ended, Ethan & I went to talk to the coach to assure that we were still starting in the game tomorrow night.
"Hey, coach." Ethan said as he walked in the office.
"Dolans. What can I do for you?" He asked.
"Me & Gray wanted to know if were still staring in the game tomorrow."
"Hmm..." The coach said as he looked at his clipboard with his papers
"Yes... But only Grayson. We cut you out Ethan."
I looked up & was surprised.
I didn't know why Ethan would get cut out.
"Why?" Ethan said.
"We feel that Grayson would help us win. Sorry, bud. Maybe next year?" The coach said as he patted Ethan in the back & walked out.
Ethan looked at me.
Then he walked out.
"Ethan. I'm sorry. I didn't know."
"No, Grayson. You ALWAYS have to get what you want."
"You think I did this?"
"C'mon, Grayson. You will step on anyone to get what you want."
"But Ethan, believe me! I didn't do this. I know you've worked harder than me. If there was a way I could give my place to you, I would."
Ethan looked at me & walked out.
I lost Gaby, I can't lose my brother too.

•Game Night•
Gabriella's POV
The cheerleaders & I were practicing the cheers & I kept messing up the steps & tripping.
I couldn't concentrate. Grayson was on my mind.
Gabe was warming up with Grayson & he kept looking at me, which made it harder for me to focus.
"Gaby, you okay?" Ms. Heart asked.
"Yeah. Just a little headache. I'll get over it."
"Alright. It's your first game so I'd understand if your nervous."
I nodded & walked back to my place.
I looked at the bleachers & I saw my mom & dad. As much as they don't like to go out in public, they knew how much this night meant to Gabe & me.
The game started & we started doing our cheers.
As I looked at the field, I always caught Grayson looking at me.
Were almost an hour into the game.
Grayson was going to start in the game & he looked at me from the field & he smirked as he put his helmet on.
I lost it, I got upset. Grayson meant so much to me & all I've done is push him away.
Alexa saw I was upset & said,
"Grayson broke your heart already?"
I looked at her & rolled my eyes.
I just wanted to leave.
I looked at the bleachers & I saw how concerned my parents were about me.
I went up to Ms. Heart,
"I can't do this. My head is killing me right now." I lied.
"Okay, I understand. Just go home & rest." She said concerned.
I smiled & I went up to the bleachers to my parents.
I told them I felt sick & I wanted to leave.
My mom said that she was going to drop me off home & then come back to support Gabriel.
As I looked from the bleachers onto the field I saw Grayson.

Grayson's POV
I was about to start in the game & I was not in the mood to tackle some guys. I didn't want to play.
As we got set up in our positions, I looked up at the bleachers & I see that Gabriella is about to leave the game.
She looked at me & I can see how hurt she was.
I stood up straight & took off my helmet. I ran towards Ethan.
Everyone gasped.
"Here!" I said as I handed him the helmet.
"Gray, what are you doing? You're about to start." He said.
"I don't deserve this. You do. You've worked so much harder than me."
Ethan grabbed the helmet.
"Why are you leaving?" He asked.
I looked up at Gabriella.
"I have to fight for my own prize. But go!" I said.
Ethan put on the helmet.
"Thanks, Gray." He said & ran off.
I ran up the bleachers to Gabriella.
"Grayson, what are you doing?" She asked.
"I'm so in love with you, Gabriella. I can't let you go."
"What are you saying?"
"That I'm ready. I'm ready to love you. I'm truly am sorry for what I said. You aren't business. You're mine. And it would be such an amazing honor for you to be my girlfriend."
She looked at me & smiled.
"Yes, Grayson. A million times yes." I carried her & kissed her as I spun her around.
Everyone around us cheered & clapped.
I looked at her & I knew that she was the one I've been looking for.
We looked to the field & we see that Ethan made the final touchdown & we won.
After that night I won it all.

Looks like Ethan wasn't the only one that scored a touchdown that night. Grayson won a prize of his own.
