In May, the full moon manifests itself with bloody intensity. The wolf seems hungry, insatiable, thirsty and Remus dawns in the next morning sore, bruised, no strength to attend class, and his arms full of wounds. Lily sees him at breakfast when she stretches her arm to catch the milk, not giving up in trying to give him a potion to taste for wounds that make them heal earlier and soothe the pain.

-Lily, I'm fine- Remus protests.

- You'll be better when I give you the potion.

And there is no more talk.

At noon, Sirius is reading the last thing he'd find from Remus' muggle book collection. A curious one called "The metamorphosis ", about a muggle who turns into a bug. On top of his bed, skipping, as usual, his homework of Divination, he notices the smell of healing potion even before Lily, opens the door.

- Hey, - Sirius leaves his finger in the book so as not to lose the page- why you damn girls can come in here and we can't go in your room?

- Because the people who made this school- responds Lily- thought that the guys weren't to be trusted, and unfortunately, because of guys like you, it seems reasonable.

-There you go, Evans. One thing we have to recognize James. He likes the wild ones and the ones that wouldn't bite their tongues.

Sirius is beginning to really like the girl, even if it bothers her a bit to meet him. Is stubborn as a Black, yes. Don't stop until he makes sure Remus, making a face of receiving a foul odor, applies the ointment on his forearms. The scratches are deep red. Raw. Sirius has seen worse.

- I already smell St. Mungo's, Lily. Happy?

- I think so. I'm hallucinating with happiness. And now take off your shirt.

- Lily! Aren't we going to kiss first?

In bed, Sirius tries to keep reading but is distracted, constantly, with their conversation and jokes and so much touching. Because it's not that he matters or is his business, but they don't stop touching, those two. If not knowing Remus's issue with the girls, he could say they like each other. If he were Prongs, he would definitely be jealous.

-Pretend I'm not here- he says. -You do your thing-. It Aims to be a joke but he sounds slightly constricted like if he were a little irritating. But he can't help it. He tries but that anger that dawned in London is still there and is not able to understand it, nor to subdue it.

-This smells like cooked radish.- Remus frowns.

- Do you live in this room and the smell of the healing potion is what bothers you? - Lily doesn't give credit.

There is a musty smell in the room. Male secretions must be.

-It's Peter's socks- Remus explains.

- Merlin- snorts Lily. - Smells like hippogriff droppings.

The two boys agree with her.

-Sirius thinks we should cut off his feet.

-An amputation for health matters - he clarifies. - Even if you don't believe it, Evans, if James asks, surely the poor kid goes and does it for the only sake of it.

- Hey - Lily addresses them both, like a guest artist at a dance that she has been perfecting over the years - do you put something in your food to be so hilarious, or rather is it all to blame for sniffing those socks?

Sirius has never had a friend who was a girl. Has had friends and on the other hand, he has had girls, but no girl-friends. He did not know that it could be even possible, nor thought about it. He has never touched one lass like Lily is touching Remus.
