sammy's pov

the warmth of somebody's arm holding me close to their bare chest was comforting. a small groan left my mouth as the sun light hit my face through the curtains that hung above the bedroom window. i rolled over, trying to avoid the light hitting my face.

but i grew uncomfortable after moving into my new position. i couldn't go back to sleep, it sucked.

i opened my eyes slowly to be met with someone's neck, a smiled slowly when i looked up at reggie sleeping. his jaw unclenched, cheeks red, hair messy and soft snores leaving his mouth.

he looked so peaceful.

i couldn't help but run my fingers through his hair softly, not trying to wake him up. i scratched the back of his neck gently and looked at him in awe.

why was it that he looked so good in the morning? not only that, why does he look so perfect? so peaceful right now?

time felt slow, i didn't feel any weight on my shoulder and my heart was no longer happy. i was at peace.

reggie's eyes then slowly started to open and he smiles when he sees me looking at him already.

"morning, baby." he croaks.

"morning, reg."

"do you know what today is?" he asks me with a soft sigh. "mhh, no. i don't know what today is." i shook my head, not understanding why he was asking what today is.

"it's our anniversary. eight year anniversary."

what?

before i could speak or question what he had just told me, we heard a knock at the door of our bedroom. we both look at the door as it slowly opens to reveal a little girl.

she held a stuffed rabbit and wore a footie pajama that had flowers on it. she walked over to our bed and got all giggly when reggie kissed her head.

"did you sleep good, honey?" he asked her as she laid down between me and him. she nods before looking at me with a smile.

she smiled just like reggie.

"can we paint today, mommy? you promised yesterday that we could." she asked me with puppy eyes.

did she just call me mommy? was she my daughter? mine and reggie's daughter?

"oh- um... sure." i nodded slowly. she squealed in excitement and kissed my cheek.

"thank you, mommy!"

i couldn't help but feel emotional at the fact that she was calling me mommy, i was her mom. she was real, our daughter was real.

she had my eyes, reggie's smile paired with his dimples. she had dark brown hair like me and reggie's nose. she was a mini version of us. we made her, she was our child that was made from pure love.

"and maybe after we can go to the park? maybe get some ice cream too? how does that sound, daisy?" reggie was suggesting, being so sweet towards our daughter, daisy.

her god damn name was daisy. it matched her perfectly, she was so beautiful and delicate like a little daisy.

i already knew she had him wrapped around her little finger.

"yes!" she shouts making reggie laugh and i did as well, she definitely got her loud voice from reggie. "i love you guys. you are the best mommy and daddy ever!"
