BILLIE'S P.O.V
"You got this, Bil. Don't get too nervous. You already know she's gonna say yes." Finneas set his hands on my shoulders as I looked in the mirror.
"Yeah, listen to Finneas. You'll be alright. And don't lose this." She put the ring in my pocket. "And we'll be there if you need anything."
I nodded. "I'm not gonna lose it, you bozo."
"Never know with you."
-
"That's not true." I shook my head.
"I have video evidence, Camilla. I will show you later." Finneas smiled.
"Okay."
"Whatever—ooh!" I crouched down, examining a shell. "Never mind. I thought I saw a hermit crab."
Camilla laughed, crouching down beside me and digging through the sand a little. "We could probably find one."
"Hold on." I pulled my shoes off and tossed them to the side. I didn't want to get a bunch of sand in them. Camilla did the same thing, and then Claudia and Finneas follow suit, all of us digging around in the sand. "Hey, Mino, I have a question."
"What?" She looked up at me and I threw some sand in her face.
"How does sand taste?"
She kissed me, sand getting in my mouth. "About like that."
I groaned. "I hate you."
"I love you too, baby." She smirked, standing up.
I dusted my sweatpants off and then rolled them up to my knees so that I didn't get any more sand on them. "Can I see your phone real quick?"
"Yeah, sure." She handed me her phone.
"Catch, Fin!" I tossed him her phone and pushed her into the water. "You're not allowed to retaliate."
"That's not fair." She slid her hand into my back pocket and I was too distracted by the contact to notice her pull my phone out and throw it behind me. She wrapped her arms around my waist, falling backwards.
"I hope I drown because of you." I sat up and Camilla straddled me, setting her hands on my cheeks. We were still in shallow water so the waves were only coming up to Camilla's waist.
"You're such a baby. You're not gonna drown. And your mascara is running now, so you're welcome." She used her thumbs to wipe the mascara away from my eyes.
"Damn. Am I ugly now?"
"Hideous." She smiled and I gasped, feigning offense. "I'm just kidding. You're beautiful as always, Billie. I'm cold now. Make me warm." She laid her head on my chest.
I smirked, setting my hand on her thigh, feeling her skin heat up under my touch. "Did that help?"
"Fuck you, Billie," she breathed, balling my shirt up in her hands.
"What's wrong?" I asked innocently.
"Stop doing that shit when you can't do anything else." She pulled my hand away and I laughed.
