SKYLAR POV

I'm waiting out front for Mel, trying my best to control and process my thoughts. I hear the door open and I look up. The moment I see Momma Mel I run over to her, she opens her arms for me and she holds me in a tight hug.

Skylar: I've missed you...

Mel: I've missed you too my beautiful girl.

Skylar: I'm sorry I've been so inactive on my socials.

Mel: Hush, you've had a lot to deal with recently.

Skylar: Could we go back to mine or to your office?

Mel: The boys are outside let's go to my office.

We head inside and make it into Mel's office without being seen. We lock the door behind us and sit on the couch.

Mel: Here, Bryan wanted you to have this.

Mel hands me my favourite hoodie of Bryan's I lift it to my chest and my heart swells and aches for him. I can smell him on the hoodie. Just a little piece of him that I needed until I see him later. I pull the hoodie over my head, it's stops mid thigh.

Skylar: I wanted you to know that even tho I haven't been posted I have been working. I've recorded and edited 4 new singles. I just need to get the covers taken with Dom and for us to agree release dates!!

Mel: That's great news Sky.

Skylar: I think we should post one really soon like within a month as I'm going to be doing a TeaTok with Bryce and Josh about the assault and what Jayden did.

Mel: Are you sure you can handle that?

Skylar: It was my idea. I can't live in fear everyday even if right now I feel vulnerable and exposed. I won't live in the shadows. I'm also not going to let him or anyone else talk shit about Bryan. Just because I don't like conflict and I tend to shy away from it doesn't mean I won't fight back, stand my ground or show people not to fuck with me.

Mel: That's my strong, powerful baby.

Skylar: Can I play you a little snippet of the song I want to release?

Mel nods in agreement and I load the track and press play, the whole room is silent other than the song that's playing. This song is so different to all the other singles I have released. It's an acoustic track with a power pop genre focus. It's an emotional and catchy song that's obviously been written based on what happened in Vegas. I've not dropped any names as such but to anyone who has seen the shit Jaden is posting or anyone who watches the TeaTok they will know. The song ends and Mel looks at me with tears in her eyes.

Mel: I think that's an incredible song Sky, it's so different to all the other tracks you've released. I felt every word that you sang and it was like I was right their with you. Experiencing every thought, feeling, fear.

Skylar: It was the hardest song I have ever written but it's also the song that's helped me move on from it. Yes I still have moments where I panic but I'm getting better. Im really proud of this song.

Mel: Your stronger than you think.

Skylar: Can you do me a favour?

Mel: Of course.

Skylar: I want to play the track to the house, this will answer any questions they have but before I can do that I need to see someone.

Mel: Let me go get him

Skylar: Thanks Mel, can you not say I'm here. Maybe just say you need to give him a message and gift from me.

Mel: Of course.
